here's a pic of one of their past watches...can't find any other history at this time...now we need to find a Viking model for you Will!!!

Tärnan Formule MS 80 May 13, 2010 SOLD
The “Tärnan” was a popular brand during the 50ies and 60ies and was only sold on the Swedish market. During this time most of the brands made in Sweden was licensed from abroad and had Nordic names according to the nationalistic atmosphere like Birka, Runa, and Viking.
This watch is from the 1960ies and is obviously inspired by racing, as can be seen on the yellow and black chess pattern and by the name formule MS 80.
Size: 36mm (without crown)

Photo by The Watching The Formule MS 80 watch was inspired by the Ford Cosworth powered racing car Matra MS80 that held great successes for Jackie Stuart and winning him the Formula One World Championship title in 1969.

unless you lived in Sweden I doubt anyone remembers this brand which apparently was licensed from abroad...or in other words Asia?..maybe they should have revived the watch in the pic above instead of another Mil-Sub homage right on the heels of about a half dozen other vendors...

"During this time most of the brands made in Sweden was licensed from abroad and had Nordic names"

Seems to me that they just use an old Swedish name bought for peanuts to get away from another stamp...
Well, the watch will wear "Swiss made" so they apparently meet the standard...

Swedish jokes?...must be like Polish jokes here in the states...
Q: How can you tell if there are Swedes on an oil rig? A: They are throwing bread up in the air, trying to feed the choppers.
