I agree with William... I'm a big fan of lume, just not a fan of Lum-Tec...  And that price is just ridiculous... I would rather spend my money on something else.  There are so many others.

I've been seeing the LumTec on some forums and saw them in the flesh in some show windows and I think they really look great...dials, cases, hands, straps etc. But one debit, I guess, is the movement they use and I find it hard to justify the price point.

I heard and read the watches are reliable though and keep decent time. Maybe if they were selling for 25% to 40% less than market, maybe the line would latch on.

Well I own one of their funky little weird movement (Slava twin barrel) watches and love it.

Purchased inexpensively on the secondary market. The only way to pick one up.

Just watch for someone to flip one and you get to a more reasonable space. Say doesn't Brice have a couple Lume Tecs or did he flip those already?subtlelaugh.gif

I've always wondered what's the big deal with Lum Tec, they always seem really pricey vs what they offer but heck.. If they sell a lot of pieces then they must have a following..

On my case, $800 is a lot of money and if I were to spend it on a watch i'd buy a higher end piece with a proven movement albeit swiss or japanese not the ones Lum Tec offers.. Just MHO..

I tell you what is up with LumTec: As most of company who present them self as designed/builded or assembled/cased in the USA, the prices hit the usual roof...
It has always amazed me.
In fact, the average level of life is lower in the US than Switzerland but somehow the "prestige" seems to be higher for those watches designated for the American market and them customers ready to pay for the nationalistic feeling.
Just my personal view on this phenomenon...

Well my friend if that is the case then I think that whoever has the $$ and can buy it shall enjoy it!!! In my case (as with a large part of WISdom) I would purchase a watch of higher quality with that amount of money...
