As you may know, I have chickens.  Last night when I left Shelby out we had a visitor.  It was a bobcat.  I am going to check with the local game warden to see what I can do about it.  I doubt if it could get at my chicks but, I dont want to find out.  I also have a fox around here.  Fox season starts on sat so I am going to see about setting some traps out.  Maybe even get a few bucks from pelts.

Just talked to the game warden.  The bobcat is protected and need some kind of special permit.  He is going to check with his supervisor to see what we can do to get rid of it.  Maybe trap and relocate.

Well, we know the bobcat's just doing it's thing...but you were right to look into it with the game warden. Kudos for going that route rather than 'vigilante'.  Gotta protect your family, hard work, investment and your property.

I wouldnt do anything illegal. The warden is a friend of mine and my uncle was even a warden.  So I dont even want to go there.  The game commission tries to help however they can.  Years back they tried to catch a bear that trashed my bee hives.  They reimbursed me for the hives for that one time.  If I wanted to put the hives back up I would have had to put up some kind of fence to keep the bears out.  I never put the hives back.  Hopefully they can catch the cat and let it loose many many miles from here.

Hope for a peaceful resolution Scott, and from what I gather you lead an interesting, eventful life up there in PA.  I'd probably buy your book if you ever decide to do that too.subtlelaugh.gif Take care...

I guess that those Bobcats are scared of humans and at first from them smell: Maybe you could put some pieces of old weared clothes around your chick-house. They have to be unwashed offcourse:D
