Very tough to find to. When you do find one they are normally priced way too high for the condition of the watch. I had an easier time finding my Divingstar at a decent price and there are only 100 of them. If I had a "grail" watch it would be the Caribbean.

I actually have each of the Caribs.  Carib GMT, "RR", and
Seahunter.  The only carib that Doxa has made that I don't
have is the Prototype Carib 300T Reissue.  Only 1 of those made.
The thing I like about the Seahunter Carib is the ORANGE
SECOND-HAND.  Very nice feature IMHO.  There is 1 "RR"
Carib out there that "Longhorn" on the Doxa Forum has
that also has an orange second-hand.  Lucky Guy.  I was
very lucky to get the Seahunter Carib when I did.  Funny
Thing is that there have been a couple pop up on Fleabay.
Overpriced IMHO.  I don't think they have sold.

I agree. The ones on Fleabay recently have been way over priced. If I remember they wanted like $2600 for them, I could be mistaken though. I only want the Seahunters version and don't really want a "rr" version as I don't buy into the hype that it is worth any more. I don't really want to pay a reward for a quality control defect either. I'll keep looking and I am sure I will snag one someday. It took me close to a year to find the Sub 600 Divingstar at a decent price but it happened.

Actually, I thought the "RR" was a novelty at first.
Bought one from Grand Cayman over the phone.
Quite expensive.  I think I have $2,600 in mine.
Alot of money for a watch that just sits in a drawer.
It will be quite interesting to see what happens to
Doxa over the next couple years to see if this whole
"Retail" thing pays off.  If it does, I think I may be
able to get my money back out of the "RR".  I am not
typically in the business of losing money in watches.
My first higher-end watch was a Breitling Super
Avenger.  It was nice, but I couldn't justify having
the one watch when I could sell it and buy 2 Doxas.
I sold it on Ebay and lost $190.  Not too bad.  Since
then I haven't sold any watches.

I have way too many Doxas;)

If I remember correctly there have been two posted lately.  One for $1699 and one for $1799.  Seller said that one was worth more than the other due to where they fell with their serial #.  I might pay $100 more for #1/250 but that would be the only one.

Guess I missed those. I saw one or two about a month ago that were NIB and I think they wanted somewhere around $2500 for them. I get an email daily from eBay of all the Doxa watches available worldwide. I did go for a couple weeks where I just deleted them without reading as I didn't want to be tempted to buy one. Every watch I buy takes from my Jeep build fund. I still have about 3K of work to finish my Jeep CJ7 to where I want it.

Way off topic here, but a pic??  I have a 1983 CJ7 that I hope to start on in the next several months.  I know this sounds corny, but I want to fix it and put either 33s or 35s on it and paint it Doxa Orange.  I had a 2001 Wrangler that would have matched my DS quite nicely, but I sold it after 2 kids........

Ahh, ask and you shall receive. Mine is an 81 but I have 83 decals on it. Hey, they were free. Price them and you'll see why I used a different year decals. I to have thought about painting mine Doxa orange so no, it's not corny.

These pics are a bit old. I just ran out to take one as I put the winch back on a while back and haven't taken any updated pics.

Here is the 99 Wrangler I had I sold a while back.

The 79 CJ5 I built and sold to buy the CJ7

I have owned Jeeps since 1976 and have had over 20 of them.

I now remember your pics on the Doxa Forum.  Looks strikingly similar to mine.  Only, yours is in much better shape at this point.  Thanks for the pics!!

Sweet vintage pieces! hand6.gif

Nothing wrong with owning a Doxa, right? ;)

Cheers
