I always use the Harley Davidson Leather Treatment on mine. I've used it for years and it has never discolored or stained a stap. It keeps them in like new condition and softens the leather. First thing on a new strap and about every 6 months. I assumed if it is good enough for HD products, should good for leather straps. JMHO
