Ken .... I didnt take offence that I thought you didnt believe he was a buddy .... I got to know him before he was a big star and we hit it off from the beggining ...The first time I met him, he needed a truck to borrow( which I lent him) .... and he was an overweight 3rd stringer from ATL ....I said to him YOUR Brett Favre ????? The guy everyone says we wasted a 1st round pick on ???? It looks like you could lose a pound or thirty ??? He laughed and since we both liked to drink beer , fish and golf we became friends ....MY OWN COUSIN the Paxman himself was sceptical untill I brought him out on a night on the town with Brett and some other Packers .... What I was talkin about was you thought I said he had worth ONLY because I knew him ....believe me when I tell you I am the 1st to bitch about his stupid mistakes ...and Ill do it to his face ....You are correct in saying that the Packers brass lack forethought and that the Pack still isnt a very good team with him as QB
But then.............I have yet to see ANY NFL team owner/manager with foresight. With the way TV money is split, there is no real incentive and no real accountability....and that is why I am a college level sports fan. In college, they don't switch teams every year and they play with heart, either because they simply love the sport or are trying to make it to the show! I do hand it to Favre for sticking with the sucky Packers and not JUST following the money!
