Long before I got seriously interested in watches I started collecting knives. And I don't mean a nice variety of Ginzu kitchen knives. Back in '84 when I graduated from college I started collecting Interesting production knives I would see in catalogs. Stuff like Cold Steel, Sog, & Gerber. Over the years my collection grew and evolved. At one point I had over 200 pieces in the collection both production and custom, handmade pieces. Now my collection has evolved to where there are very few production pieces and mainly custom stuff. Every year I attend the North East Custom Collectors show in Mystic Connecticut and pick up a new piece or two for the collection. Just like watches, I buy and sell knives. Interestingly enough some of my favorite knives are automatics, both production and custom made. One of my favorite production companies that I've been collecting for years is a company called Microtech.
