I look at this big boy every now and then. It only runs for a little over 9 grand LOL so a dream watch for now but maybe some day.

I spotted it last Summer on a blog the first time and look around now and then to see if any are for sale and for how much.

Not a watch for everyone rather different. But I like different now and then. :)

Has a great movement in it too. The Swiss Eta 2897!

Not to bad Simon but if by chance I was in a good place to spend 9 or 10 grand on a single watch I would go for my Uber Grail. I am so in love and lust with the watch. hearteyes.gif hearteyes.gif

Yea it is something and Eterna has quite the history. The watch company has had a big effect on watches for over a century now. For those who did not know the brand.

Like Skipdawg, I looked at this watch...back in Nov of 2006 just as it was being released.  Then it was $5k, and the distributor in Canada (Eterna was not available in the USA) had a 20% off introductory price; but the $4k  was non-refundable because they weren't a retailer.  Didn't want to be stuck with a watch whose value might tank after introduction.

Took a pass and found a Doxa Coppa on the Bay instead for half the price.............

If only I had known !   crap.gif

When I first read the post, I was like NO WAY would I spend $9k on a dive watch. I looked at the pictures and, well, I stand corrected. I think this one falls into the 'UBER GRAIL' category for me. I've really liked the Eterna dive watches since I first saw them, this ones no exception.

As a dive watch this looks really nice. Easy to view dial and great crown protection. $9K for an ETA 2897 seems just wrong to me. There are alot of good dive watches out there for less money. $9K will buy you quite a few high end Swiss pieces for that. I could have picked up a used Panerai Black Seal a couple of months ago for $4995.00.

Very nice and very expensive.  Though if I could part with 9k with out a second thought, that would be on the short list.
