Thank you to everyone for your inputs, I ended up going to a local Rolex/Panerai Dealer and doing a side-by-side comparison ...and the Panerai was just an easier read for my old eyes(Forty Something). The Rolex was just to small on my wrist, the dial was harder to read and with the GMT function, made it even more difficult. The Panerai was just a better feel on the wrist and an easier read, plus the watch is just so damn sexy! Hey Shady - brilliant choice the PAM 0049!! I have a dark grey (almost black) dialed 068 GMT with date on an SS bracelet. Like yours, it has the polished case and the polished case upper. Unlike yours, it is not quite as clear to read, but it still gets me by!! I swap out straps on mine all the time just for the sheer hell of it. 24/24s with big polished pre-v buckles will blow you away, amd I hope you will have an absolute ball with this one. Let us know what you think of the lume on dial and hands though - spicy meatball indeed!! What a nice clear, clean white face that one has! There are so many clones (and I have bought a few - the latest of which will be in incoming pics soon...), but let me tell you that when your REAL Panny pops out from under your cuff, you dont have to make any excuses... and the buzz doesn't lessen over time.
