What do you all think of this B&R.... I have never been into military type watches but something about this really calls out to me with the Army green dial and the synthetic strap ...just has that complete package look to it perfect.gif New Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Instrument Military: The authenticity of the military watch The BR 03 INSTRUMENT with its 42 mm diameter is a real alternative to the BR 01 INSTRUMENT XXL, 46 mm, a tailor-made tool.  A true replica of an aircraft cockpit instrument, professional by its very nature, the BR 03 is first and foremost a utilitarian watch specially created for aircraft pilots. I think that it's amazing. I saw it on the B&R forum on WUS a few weeks ago and was blown away. I think that Hucky has this on his list for 2009. Can't wait to see it around 3T. It's a beauty. My only concern could be it's size...I haven't seen a wrist shot, and I've seen some B&R's that are too big (at least for me). |

The B&R 03 series is just the right size (at 42mm) IMHO. The B&R 01's at 46 are just HUGE! They wear SO much bigger than thier stated size because of the flat, square case. Seriously, you have to go try some on. That being said, the 'Military' has been sold out for over a year. B&R does not even show it in the current catalog. You may find the odd AD with one ... mine didn't have any. You will likely need to look to the secondary market if you want one. BTW, if you have anything bigger than an 8" wrist (and even that is a stretch) you will not be able to wear the rubber strap. There are a lot of complaints about it's length on the official B&R forum. Since the canvas strap adjusts with velcro, It does size a little easier. Unfortunately, the special green canvas strap (only available with the 'Military' model) is only available in one size. The black canvas straps can be ordered thru B&R in xtra short and xtra long. Thanx Huck ... by coincidence only :p . I wanted one of these quite badly about mid last year and subsequently did quite a bit of research. I found that both this model and the BR03 with the blue numerals and hands that I would have considered were both sold out. I believe the phantom is quite rare as well. |

That is an awesome watch. I am into military style watches. I guess the Marine Corps brainwashing is long lasting. In any event, there are a number of things that speak out to me with this watch. Very clean, good colors. The olive drab dial, and part of the hands and the green matching strap. Case color, it all fits. It is a complete package.hand6.gif |

2800 is the cheapest second-hand one I have seen so far. Most seem to be between the 3200 and 3500 mark. I would consider snapping that up if you want one. |
