My fiance just bought me a 39.2mm. Omega Railmaster with a stainless bracelet (unfortunately, I don't get it until just before the wedding day in October). It has the Co-Axial Escapement. I'm psyched as it is a very nice gift which should hold decent value as an heirloom. Anyone have this watch or have any opinions on the Railmaster?

Thanks, Tony. I appreciate the congratulatory remarks. Now, if I could only get a collection like yours. :)

You are a very lucky man and it will be October before you know it.  woohoo.gif  I don't own an Omega but I understand that they make a wonderful timepiece and yours sould very easily become an heirloom.  I think your wedding watch looks awesome and I look forward to seeing you post some pictures of it after your honeymoon.  subtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gif  Congratulations on the Omega and for your future wedding, cheers.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding, and sincere best wishes to your very kind lady - who clearly sees your watch addiction and is prepared to facilitate it!

What a beauty the Railmaster is - it is available from 39.2mm up to 49.2mm, looks a million bucks, keeps great time with Omega's co-ax movement, and is an absolute stunner to boot.

I do not own a Railmaster, but I have had the pleasure of placing a few on my wrist at the local AD. The XXL is a bit like a pie plate on my wrist, so the smaller sizes are much more "elegant" IMHO. The co-ax keeps the watch quite slim, the action of the second hand is mesmerising, and the clarity of the dial markers is absolutely second to none.

I hope that you find the same with your October "unveiling" of the watch, and that you wear it for many years appreciating the thought that was behind its presentation to you as a wedding gift.

IMHO - you'll love it!

Cheers! IanM hand6.gif

Big congrats on the wedding and the Omega.hand6.gif

The Railmaster fitted with the co-axial escapement is a great timepiece. I had one from 2003 to 2005 but flipped it to an associate of mine at work. It had a luxurious brown reptile strap and was in a deployant buckle, which realy added to the overall look of the big watch. I am sure you know that the co-axial escapement translates to better accuracy and longer life because friction of the escapement is reduced by half. It is deemed a technological coup by Omega. For sure, it will serve you well.:)

If I'm not mistaken the Railmaster is part of the Aqua Tera family in Omega parlance. I do own an AT and can tell you it is one of my favorite watches both for its great looks and high quality operation. The co-axial movement will serve you well and I think the Railmaster is a bold handsome watch. I personally long for an XXL.

A great watch to mark a great milestone in your life. May it serve you well and always evoke wonderful memories.
