OK, received watch from an eBay seller from whom I have bought watches. After hand-winding and swinging it so the counterweight winds, the watch only runs for a few seconds, then stops.

Here is the reply I got to a note to them:

Hi Jim,

There is no reason to the panic.
You must carry the watch approximately 24 hours, so that the walk-reserve of the watch loads itself.
The watch works from alone at most 38 hours approximately, if you carry the watch no longer
As soon as the 38 hours are past and you have carried the Arnvabduhr no longer meanwhile, work it no longer.
Please inform after 2-3 days, as the watch works.

Has anyone ev er heard of a "walking reserve." Does this mean I can carry it in a pocket or do I have to wear a non-working watch for three days?

I await your replies!

Thanks,

Jim
