I'm not into quartz movement, but might try one of these.

Bulova Precisionist
Precisionist is a quartz watch with a second hand that beats 16 times per second, while those on standard quartz watches beat only one time per second. As a result, the continuous motion of the Precisionist second hand is even more fluid than all mechanical watch second hands that beat only 8 to 10 times per second.

Interesting concept and some nice designs. Just not sure I would spend the money.

I had one in hand at Macy's but couldn't get behind the damn near dull retail they wanted. Very cool watch which looks and acts like an auto but with the super reliability and accuracy of this hi beat quartz movement.

Thanks for the link and info, Johnny P. Accurate to 10 seconds a year is great. Grand Seiko's Spring Drive is about the same though and uses the same dynamics...more beats per second.

This would be a nice addition to a collection.thumbsup.gif

My friend Bob aka WarriorRider just purchased one @JC Penny's yesterday for around 341.00, they r having a sale 25% off then another 30% off the total. He purchased the blk carbon fiber dial w/ the blue accents & yellow sec hand--96b131.

Pretty darn nice just not my style, but the claim in accuracy @  seconds per year  is absolutely sick in my eyes...........

Great looking model this Champlain Will!
I like best the blue version: Would be cool with a steel bracelet.
The size: 46,5mmX14,4mm is perfect for my taste.
For 341$, I may have done the jump even I'm not a quartz guy: Because the very first thing who irritate me with the quartz is the usual raw robotic second hand...
The sweep hand gives more life on the dial in my meaning.
Tell to Bob that a little review would be welcome!

I'm with you guys...not really a quartz guy, but this is intriguing with the sweep seconds hand beating along at 16 bps and the awesome accuracy of the super quartz.

I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that Oscar had one of these on order...but I don't think I've seen it yet.

I would certainly be tempted at that JC Penney sales price!

I've been on the quartz bandwagon with my last three purchases, so I'm interested, but I'm not keen on the lack of a sapphire crystal.

Why in the world wouldn't you put a sapphire crystal on your new line of watches? From what I understand the cost difference is insignificant for a manufacturer of Bulova's size.

The movement is really interesting, though. I expect that we'll see these appearing more and more often. I could see these high-beat quartz movements replacing the traditional one-per-second models currently in use.

Yeah: Mineral crystal??? Sapphire is a mineral but it seems like we don't speak about sapphire there or what?I agree with Nordstrom: If the quartz market wants a future, it will have to switch to the sweep hand...

I love the idea of a new Bulova with a smooth sweeping second hand. So far though the designs just aren't my taste. I am hoping they release a ~40-42mm mil or dive style. One of them is close and I can't remember the model name, but it is too big for my wrist :(

Hey Guy's I wanted to throw my 2 cents in on this bad to the bone timepiece! I read about it several months ago in Watch Time Mag. & it really caught my attention so I contacted some friends at various Jewelry stores to contact me when they finally hit the stores. It was several months later but I got a few calls so off I went to check them out. The one I was interested in was the one I saw in the Magazine but that Model was $600 but I was determined to find one cheaper & like watchdaddy stated JC Pennys had this super duper deal going & I got it out the door for $341 That was on November 12, 2010 I brought it home & set it to my Atomic Clock & to this day January 30, 2011 it has lost exactly 2 seconds! If that continues it will be right on the claim of 10 to 12 seconds a year! The sweeping second hand is quite a sight knowing that this is a quartz watch & it is smoother that most of my automatics! thumbsup.gif I will keep everyone posted as to its progress over the following months.......Bob
