Haven't heard of them before, Gregger and from the name of the company, I can only suspect it's a US-based limited liability company. Would you know where the watches are made? i don't seem to recall any mention of origin. However, I think the Six Pounder looks ok. The hands are a bit on the avant garde side but still acceptable aesthetically. Maybe Oscar or Mark or John would know.

Well, those guys don't say where they are from...Just that they are "Strong Christians" who wanted a "Biblical name" inspired, like Red Sea... Super funny: As they wanted to make a "Pirate inspired" watch called after a canon...The Six Pounder. Since when pirates was christians? You can't be pirate when you are a bible reader: Not in my book. Let's be serious: Pirates was stealing from the kings and the churches... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piracy Not to confuse with Corsairs who was sometimes earlier pirates reconverted and under the autority of the king/church. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corsair For the watches: Nothing special...Been there seen that: Long ago. Orsa is just an exemple. The Miyota isn't for me but it could satisfie many: Why not. I don't give 500-600 buks for it, Orsa made the Sea-Angler cheaper(350$) and with 2824-2 ETA movement, also the Orsa models have much more personality than that in my meaning. Specialy when you hit the 500 buks and the Sea-Viper with also a Swiss mvt. I own no Orsa and just took it as an exemple because the Red-Sea case looked a bit to me, like the Monstrum and Sea-Angler without crown guards. I'm not christian either, so this watch will not take me to paradise Last edited on Wed Feb 2nd, 2011 09:51 am by Hammerfjord |

they showed up Jun./10'....hit a few forums but I haven't heard much since...the watchs are due out Apr./11 but I have to agree with Will that even their pre-order pricing is a bit high for what is being offered amidst all the micro competition...btw LUM-TEC is a partner so you more than likely have a Asian case and components assembled by them here in Ohio.

I like the look and vibe to the Six Pounder. I'm not concerned with mixed messages sent by the branding. Regardless, when I first noted these last Summer I was immediately put of by what I consider a premium price on an unknown brand using Chinese bits and a Miyota. I thought I was just being cheap...
