Congrats!
too late now but having owned all but the triton, I would have gone with the Zixen or Vortex... I kept my Vortex 1 day, just did not click with it at all but it is an impressive watch nonetheless. Zixen makes real high quality watch as well.

Thanks Jeep99dad!
Really eager to se how I will like it, when I see it in real life, and on the wrist.
Cause it`s a bit different from mye other watches, (maybe one of the reasons I decided to give it a try?) Normaly like it to be 46mm or more, and at least 16mm tall, so this is a bit smaller and not so in-you-face. And not sure what I feel about the no-date issues (hope it will work for me)
But what was the deal breaker for you, if I can ask? Seams to be a love-"hate" thing with the Vortex ...

Rolf

Rolf: The diameter size of a watch isn't the only factor for how much place the watch will take on the wrist...
The lugs are a big factor also.
I have around 62mm wide wrists and my 50mm Russian Shark falls right on me with 62mm lug to lug size.

My Egiziano homage is 60mm and 72mm lug to lug: I "fit" it but it's not "right my size".

Lug to lug size is important and remember that the Vortex is 54mm lug to lug for it's 44mm diameter(without crown).
When a watch takes 54mm on your wrist, it start to be a big baby and can't look ridiculous except if you have monster wrists.
For the date: I have many watches without date and enjoy them as much as the others, like many of us

I hear you William, and of course the lug to lug is (probably) THÈ key thing. But the prescence of a watch for instance of 46mm and 50mm lug-lug, to a 44mm and 54mm lug-lug is greater (imo). But I guess this just boils down to personal preference in the end. But, I´m sure the Vortex will fit my almost 8" wrists nicly. And the no-date issue I´m sure I can cope with also. Pics and initial thoughts will follow, when I get the darn thing (hate waiting ...)
Btw, really cool that russian you got there!

Thanks! Yes, this titanium Russian is hard to find as well...
I tell you what: Mesuring you wrist perimeter isn't so relevant as it seems because a thick, but not so wide wrist will not fit a big watch as well as, a wide and not so thick wrist...Get it?
Those Kobold cases are wearing big generaly: Don't refer yourself only by the mesures because some watch are giving the illusion to appear bigger than they are.
Generaly it's because the construction of the case is rough in lines or massive...

Hehe, ok William, I give ...kindatoon1.gif
But as an owner of a 63mm wide, but not so thick (20cm/7.87") wrist, I still feel that a bit over 44mm looks best (on me), and in the end, it`s all a matter of personal preference. But of course, lug to lug is the thing that makes a watch wearable or not wearable. And anyways, I`m sure the vortex will be super!

First question, where did you find a “New” Vortex???

You’ve got to be one heck of a shopper, with great connections, or as they say in Vegas..."A Lot of JUICE"..... is all I can say….ThumbsUp02.gif

Anyways since I’m coming into this thread late. Here’s a few with a couple of different straps;

Ted Su's Dive Buckle with back and white stitched straps (both notched from 24mm to 22mm).

Note: Both straps are from Ted's origional softer material strap.  I'm not sure if Ted still has this softer strap material available.  The new strap material is much stiffer, but I found that it's too stiff for me.

Benarus Bead Blasted Mesh;

....and Zulu

I would however, love to be able to afford a Kobold Ti Bracelet for it (used of course...LOL).  When I'm able to, that would be too cool.

Lance

Btw:  Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!....party.gif

Howdy Lance! And thank you!
First to your question about me beeing "connected" hahahaha.
I`m about as connected as your average toilette cleaner in Vegas (meaning, not)dog smile.gif
Got it from gnomonwatches, as it is back in stock, apperently. And the payment has gone through, also got confirmation that the watch and extra zulus are on its merry way.
So nothing sneaky or covert on this one mate, just plain old web shoppingthumbsup.gif

Gotta say, your splendid pictures didn`t exactly make me more patient in the waiting here, hehe. Hopefully I have it in the start of next week. Until then, I`m currently rotating as many watches as possible, since I guess the Vortex is gonna be on for a while, when it finally gets here.

Rolf

Have a Great Day!!!

Lance

PS I don't know,...homerthinks.gif... but I think it'd be a good time to buy a "Lotto Ticket".....LOL

PPS A bit off topic, but "Hammerfjord", I've been meaning to tell you that you've got one "Spooky Avatar".....Thumbsup3.gif

Thanks again Lance, and yup, I guess I was a little bit lucky. But that said, it doesn`t look like it`s an "limited" supply on the vortex at gnomonwatches at this time, cause it`s still there on the store.
Just hope I acctually get the vortex now then, and not something completly different, hehe. Cause THAT would be a big bummer ...
But gnomonwatches and Anders seams to get nothing but good rep on this and other forums, so guess I`m ok.

And in regards to your Arizona snow, it`s comming down BIG TIME here right now, so need to bring out the shovel AGAIN. So if you need some of our snow, I`m more than happy to send you all I have in my driveway. LOL
