My watch is on its way back! But.....the watch was only 3 mos old, and I thought the winder was very wrong because it was very tight and ground alot. The watch maker david said he pulled the watch apart and nothing was wrong other than it needed to be lubricated. He says now it works perfect and the problem was the watch had been sitting to long? where did it sit to long? at the factory? at watchbuys or a combo of both? hell, I found a fortis ducati limited I forgot I had, must have been sitting for 2 years, and wound up and worked perfect. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to arrive and see if it works right. Is the watchmaker right or did he fix something and blowing smoke up this yankees ass?

I have a Glycine that sat for 20 years without being wound..........there was no problem in winding it, however, it sounds like when your watch was built, someone simply forgot to put lubricant in it. The lubricants last for YEARS!!!

He said there was no damage. maybe no lubricant from the factory? I'm not familiar with quality control on watches but I do have it on mechanical movements for freightliner and that mistake can't take place. hopefully it will come back in perfect conditition and I can get years of service from it.

Sean...the NBY will probably be just fine Buddy!:)...some people have a bad habit of giving too much info when a simple "Your Watch has been repaired" would do just fine :D Too much info has done more damage to companies than any other resource.....a few years ago the best solution to many companies problems was having the CEO going on air and saying "I'm Sorry."....how do you reply to that :Phand6.gif

There are like 50 lubrication points and 3 diff types of lube for a 2824-2. There may be more or less I forget, but if it does not work right, and it is not under warranty then let me know.

thanks for the info oscar and avery. It helps some what in understanding there response. I would like to look at the part of the movement that is affected to better understand it though.

Got the yaeger back today and not much improvement on the winder. Talked to watchbuys who said to turn the hands 72 hours, lightly screw in the crown and let it sit until it completly winds down, then try the winder again. They stated that at the moment the spring is wound to tight and this will loosen it up. hopefully that will resolve the problem. the watch does keep perfect time, the date sets well and the hands rotate smooth. the build quality is very good but it may just have a quirky crown.
