Hi folks, looking at picking up a late Xmas gift and was waffling between Tissot Seastar 1000 or the Swiss Army 9G-600. I have read Ken's review of the 9G that is what peeked my interest but have also stumbled on the Tissot. face4.gif |

The 9G-600 is a little more utilitarian and business-like, and, it is, if you have a use for it, a chronograph. On the other hand, the Seastar 1000 is one hell of a chunk of metal with a solid feel and a lot of pizazz! It comes to mind that I did a review on the Seastar, also! http://www.timetechtalk.com/view_topic.php?id=1585&forum_id=4 Well...............I'm certain that helped!!! What the heck, get 'em both!smile8.gif |

Mike...my humble opinion is if you can find a 9G-600 at a good price go for it as they are limited in quantity and are still sold for $995.for those vendors who still have them where as the Seastar is found in abundance on the sales forum and a staple in the Tissot line hand6.gif The 9G is also a Val.7750 opposed to the 2824-2 in the Seastar...I believe everyone should have at least one 7750 in their collections imhowatch2.gif |

Tough choice to have to make. I would agree with Oscar that every WIS should have that 7750 in their collection, but in this case I, personally, would go for the Tissot. I like the diver's styling of the Tissot and think it's a great value. The SA is too. My choice is the Tissot with a blue dial. Nice quandry to have... Please let us know how it turns out and we'll hope to see yur choice make an appearance at 3T. Cheers, Pax |

Thanks for all the "sage" advice folks. I agree, was hard to choose between 1000 and 9G, but as they appear to be less available and I am curious about the 7750, decision 9G! Delivered to my door for just over 400 so am pretty pleased. Thanks again for the tweak about the Ebay listing. I will keep watch for a nice 1000 (leaning towards the silvermyself). Again thanks all for your help and support. (PS my PRS 200 (yeah I know quartz), went south and I had to send back for repairs so am a little off Tissot today). Mostly, I could not get past Ken's great review, so this will be me in a few days: |
