Invicta was awarded 2717 COSC Certificates in 06. To put it in perspective Rolex was awarded the most at 710,752. O, I am sure you have one or 2 of them, how are they holding up? It is an open question for anyone that has an COSC Invicta, I am assuming the majority of them would have been Selitta Watch Co. movements. I have owned some very good Invicta watches. Still have some. Their service is bad. I think when the Lupah craze hit things changed. The original Lupah was fine. But then, it was Lupah everything. Then Eyal's greed took over (IMHO) and away Invicta went down their road of horrible customer service and shove-em out the door watches. Today, it is still a crap shoot. But, you can still find a gem now and then from the company. However, I haven't heard anything about the CS changing. |

I like my 8926 coin edge a lot, it runs well and looks good. Of course it is a copy, but it will be awhile before I can afford the real thing unless I start a major sell off, and I love variety :D Speaking of copying, I saw an Invicta last night that is a carbon copy of the Zeno Airplane/Mondia diver. Same case, same style dial, only with a Miyota instead of an ETA. Supposedly <$200. Cheers, Griff |

Being new I see alot of Lupahs, whats the story behind Lupah, What does Lupah mean? What is a good Lupah from a bad Lupah? Do other manufacturers make lupah watches? example--- Thanks and sorry if my questions are basic, just wanna learn Thanks for your answers so far, they are very honest and very respected |

The original 40mm case or the First productions of Dragons were good quality. Both of which contain original ETA G10 movements. I personally like the Dragons better but it is of little consequence, due to the fact that they have not sold them for years. The productions of past years have Swiss parts movements assembled in China. The group of companies of which Invicta is a part made watches that were utilitarian in nature, affordable, and quality at there price range, less than $20 or so. It turned or got turned into a fashion brand, when it could have become a real watch company that made quality watches. When it came to the fork, the glitz and glam won over and everyone that had real talent left and let the shallow non-creative influences take over. Not having any real talent they became captive to the situation and like most human waist they continue to amaze one and all with there utter stupidity. Lupah is Latin and stands for magnification. |

+3 I have a few great Invicta watches (2014, 2014, and Black & Lume dial Mitilary).....I also have a Lupah!!!:P My problem with Invicta, in addition to absolutely no quality control and even less customer service, is the seemingly pathological liar that heads the company. The Invicta warranty is not worth the paper it is written on! My 8926, which I gave to my brother, is also an excellent watch for the $... |

I think what everyone forgets is that when we were buying Invictas 3-7 years ago we were using a $50. off coupon on all of them and waiting till they dropped in price to $99.95.....so for $49.95 a watch they were a deal:D |

You are correct in most cases however with this model ETA did do the finish work to the movement and rotor. This is one of two models from Invicta that Eta did do the finish work to the movement. I believe the other was the Sapphire Ghost. But please don't quote me on that. http://www.invictawatch.com/reviews/review3.html Last edited on Mon Sep 24th, 2007 07:08 pm by amwilliams9 |

This review was done by Jim. ETA does not plate rose gold on any movement ever in the history of ETA. They do not have a price or the equipment or the desire to do it. I know what I am talking about and this is my last statement on the issue. Jim needs to go back to selling smokes. |

ETA has the equipment to do one type of plating process and Rose Gold alloy is not compatible, it can only be electroplated. I am not picking on you but someone has sold you some wrong information. All I can say is keep coming back, and have a good day. |

I am sorry If the information I recieved was incorrect. I was only going by information that I was able to find. I did not mean to offend or upset, insult anyone. Also forgive me if I tried to give accurate information as I recieved it. I am still extremly new at watch collecting. I will in the future not post anything other than pic's. This is really what I like to do. and maybe just maybe I won't upset anyone in regards to Invicta. |

You know what I love about the watch you have is the movement is high grade and COSC. Selitta can do a great movement if paid enough, but they can not match the quality for the price of a pure ETA. The thing that I believe is the most significant feature of your watch is the carborundum crystal. That is an an expensive chunk of sapphire, and hard to produce in a commercial quality. If it was not as thick as it is, I would tell you to never wear it, if you did crack it you and no one else would ever be able to afford to replace it. The router work on the dial is nice, but I still stand by the movement and crystal are the features that sell it. |

Well guys I assumed that the review was written as an official fact. I am not familiar with all of the inner workings of the watch world. In fact I am just learning about the different types of movements employed by Swiss manufactures. I am sure I will get as wise as you guys but please be patient with me. I have only been collecting a little less than a year. Perhaps starting with Invicta was not a wise choice. I only started with Invicta watches because I read on more than one forum that Invicta was a great place to start. But now in Hind sight maybe it was not the best choice. it is tough to talk about the watches I own because many collectors who have been collecting for many years have moved on. As a result due to bad experiences CS, and QC they are turned off by Invicta watches. When I first ran into the harsh negativity I posted my thoughts in a rather blunt emotionally filled thread. I still love the watches I own but I will perhaps post on more well known and respected brands. I am currently in the hunt for a Tag and have been looking at a few Tissot's that have peaked my intrest. I will post pics when I have made my choice. Thanks for your comments I really did learn something. Shocking but I got it. |

Hay AM nothing wrong with starting were ya did I started out with Invicta and Stuhrling Original in the automatic arena myself. :) Before that I had done mostly Japan quartz and some manual wind. We all started some where and worked our way up. I am just getting to what I would call mid-stream and will likely sit in the middle for a good while when I make it there as watch collecting goes. ;) |

Everyone starts walking the path from some where, the point is not so much where you start but where you finish. The truth is say what you think or believe, I will respect you allot more if you do. If I were you I would never take this personally it is a hobby. Listen to some of these guys, they have made watches more fun for me than they have been for years. If I can get past some of the statements that I took very personally over the past few years, because they grilled me, never having met, spoke to, or me even posted my one post trust me you have nothing to worry about. Have a good night, twenty years down the road of you are still in the same place after hanging around here, then the gloves will come off.:D |

This thread is great! The emotion, the honesty, the information-that's half the reason why I'm glad I found this place. My first watch was an Oris but hey, I still found an Invicta I liked and added it to my collection. Despite whatever politics are going on with a company I think we're still out to find those gems that we like. I like my Invicta and I'm glad I found it. For the record I'm also glad it has a Miyota mov't in it. |
