I spoke with Nick Cassarino from countycomm.com about 3 weeks ago and again yesterday, he told me in about a week Marathon is coming out with a watch that will be quartz, but it will be the same size as the chronograph, it will be the same size as this C-SAR chronograph below.  Same case is being used, that was used on the chrono

The bezel diameter will be 46.6mm, case will be 50mm, thickness 17mm, lug 22mm. Superluminova C3 Luminous.   The price some where between $425.00 or $450.00.  He stated once it came thru customs then they would be able to determined a price.

Marathon must have heard everyone's complaint and decided to take the T-SAR and just make it bigger.  I thought the G-SAR AND SAR were big, but when I seen that C-SAR (CHRONO) WOW huge watch, but $2300.00 was just to much for me and I did want a chrono, no use for it.  I wanted to post this weeks ago, but it looks like a for sure thing now.

here's the difference. The G-SAR, or SAR to the left and the new 50mm to the right, but there will be no pusher's.

I cannot wait. Just when I was going to pick up a G-SAR, then I spoke with Nick from County.comm and I just could not beleive it.

What a difference in size. The G-Sar looks tiny in comparison! Can't wait to see the new one, not sure if my wrist is big enough for 50mm. Price point sounds right (good)

NUMBER 1 being auctioned off for Charity......

Howdy MWRines,

I'm very proud to announce the release of a brand new watch in the Marathon line. The newest offering will be "unofficially" called the JSAR for Jumbo SAR. This new watch is the same size as the CSAR, but comes at a much more practical price point. The retail price of this watch will be $450.

The new JSAR features a quartz movement and a Luminova dial. The case has the same dimensions as the CSAR, without a chrono function. The JSAR comes supplied with a natural rubber strap, but it works with the CSAR 22mm metal bracelet also.

In conjunction with this world premiere, Mitchell at Marathon, Nick and Frank at Countycomm and I have decided to auction off JSAR number 1. This is the very first JSAR to roll off the assembly line and we are offering it up to the highest bidder. JSAR number 1 will come with both the rubber strap and steel bracelet.

100% of the proceeds of this live auction will to a military charity (TBD). This auction will end promptly at 1200 AM PST on December 1, 2007. The highest bid at that time will receive JSAR number 1. We are starting this bid at $50. So without further ado, here's the watch:

A couple of auction rules:

1) This auction is open only to MWR members or above. (Members have at least 30 posts).
2) If you wish to have a private bid, please PM with your offer, and I will post in your proxy as ANONYMOUS.

Best Regards,

Bob

Holy Cow!  That is one big watch!
A little too big for my wrist I am afraid.  I lusted after the chrono but know I can't pull it off, size or price wise.

I really like the hands, it's a different look and very cool hand6.gif

Cheers,
Griff

I'm a bit confused. Why is the auction promoted HERE...if it's open only to MWR members? :?

HOWARD from West Coast Time (3T friend) told me the JSAR was mailed to him Friday.  He will be selling it for $450.00 (the same as country.com), it comes with a 22mm rubber strap, for 3T members Howard will throw in a zula strap of buyers choice of color.  Howard told me to go ahead and put the word out.

I would like to say Howard sold me a nice driver set and spring bar.  I got the driver set, but no spring bar, instead I got a pair of tweezers. Howard put a rush on my (for free) spring bar and never asked about the $11.00 for the tweezers.  So I don't care what Howard charges for (JSAR) ship I will buy from him. Plus Howard just a good dude   yourock.gif :D ThumbsUp02.gif .
