Evening switch up to a new arrival...the rare Seiko SKX399K

You guys have been tempting me with the SKX007's and SKX009's...just a classic seiko diver design...I was about to jump on an SKX007 when this very seemingly rare (IMO) SKX399 came up...I decided to jump.

I'm really liking the case design and the unique SKX399 chrome surrounded "placed indices" on the dial.  I think this may be my favorite of this case design....

Some Q&D's...I'll try to post up some better pics by the weekend.

Oh...that awesome Seiko Lume

Well done Chris! It's looking good for sure.  Now, I thought I knew Seiko watches but...I never noticed that one mistake.gif  I agree with you bud, that is a rare one.  I love the gray dial and like you said, those indices makes it distinctive...is it also with the 7s26 MOVT ?   Enjoy and congrats for the nice pick up!

Daniel...thank you for the kind words buddy!!!

So...I will try to post up some much better pics and my impressions this weekend...I really need some natural light...the dial is really black (I think it looks gray in these pics due to the fact that I took the pic very close up and with a flash which washed out the dial)...it should be the same color dial as the SKX007.

As far as I have been able to tell from the research...this one was produced specifically for the Phillipine market...is indeed a very rare bird...and it does use the 7s26 movement.  It is interesting since it has the "non-round" indices...Seiko produced an SKX173 for the USA market that has the "straight" indices, but they are painted on the dial like the SKX007 round indices versus the SKX399 which has the "chrome surrounded placed indices".  As far as I know the case is the same on all.
