Question:  Why does the Accutron VX200, without GMT, have a 25-jewel movement, while the Astronaut, with GMT, has a 21-jewel movement?

I am new to this, but logic would seem to dictate that the more complex GMT movement would require more jewels.

And the answer is...

Ty Tony....not sure as the one I bought is preowned and tthe original owner modded the bracelet to a Marine Master dive buckle cause' of his small wrists...I was able to repair the bracelet to original with parts from my workbench....even if it doesn't I have the same prob as you have and this one fits me just right...very comfortablehand6.gif

The vx200 uses a eta 2824-2 which has 25j....the Astronaut uses a GMT movement 2893-2 which happens to have 21j....so the complication generally doesn't always require more jewels(to keep friction down) until you get into watches with more complications.....you will find many cheap Asian 3 hand watches using 35j for whatever reason:?...a watch really only needs 18j to run adequatelyhand6.gif

Those are great pictures Oscar!! I've been trying to think of a way to get one of those myself, so far all of my ideas involve robbing a bank...

About 4 months ago I ask a sales women for a price on that model and she only gave me $100 off....I think it was Kay  Jewelers at the mall....I think that made it $1100 +/-.....
