Fished a cheap Parnis off the bay and have to say that even at under $50 this was a compete waste of $$! Horrible movement which creaks and groan while setting the time... just gritty and foul. Hideous wobbly stem which doesn't screw down flush to the case. And the final insult was trying to actually get a reasonable strap on the watch. Straps are fastened with a tube and screw system which worked fine on the first lug. The second set of lugs just spins and never disengages telling me it is stripped or machined so poorly as to be non-functional. A complete waste of money and time based on my experience. I've contacted the seller but unless they want to send me another I am done. Not worth the time to send this POS back. I would hope I could salvage something but with a crappy job on the case and a crappy Unitas clone for a movement this "watch" is just a pile of steaming feces. Maybe the redneck watchmaker can fix it with a hammer??

POS looks like this:

Pax

If you want, you can take it apart and send me the parts, Ill use some of the pieces and cast them into Silver .925 and make something crazy out of it.

Cheers

Huck

I'm sorry you got a lemon, Mark. I have three Parnis and my experience has been just the opposite. All of mine keep very good time with over 48 hour power reserve. The straps aren't much but I havn't had any problems changing them and the cases are amazing for the money,IMO. I didn't expect a swiss watch for $40.

I think you might be right Edgel and this is the exception rather than the rule but what I got is no good on several accounts. I wasn't expecting a Swiss watch just one that actually fit together properly... for the most part at least.toon1.gif

I am gonna say this is a lemon. Wound it up yesterday afternoon and it is already stopped so on all accounts this is not a prime example. The eBay vendor told me I needed to to use both screws...toon1.gif Ya' don't say...:X

Good news!! After some back and forth the vendor is shipping another watch head as I offered to pick up postage. Hopefully this one will allow a strap change.;)
