The History of Stowa Watch Co.

In 1927 Walter Storz branched out from his
father's watch factory in Hornberg / Kinzitigal, Germany.
Walter chose the name from the S-T-O being the first
three letters of his surname, W-A being the first two
letters of his fist name.

By 1935 Stowa began manufacturing their own
watches in a small rented space Pforsheim,Germany.
In 1938,Walter was successful enough to have been
able to built his first factory.

In eleven years Stowa had made a name for themselves
with an international reputation for high quality timepieces.

Cheers,
Simon

That's very nice.  I looked at the Stowa Seatimes just the other day.  If I am not mistaken, isn't it relatively easy to switch bezels on those?  I know on one site where they were listed, you could basically pick the options you wanted.  It would be nice to have a watch that you could easily switch between several colors of bezels.

The Sea-Time Limited Edition uses
an ETA 2824-A2 automatic movement,
as you're probably aware.

The Yellow Dial version has a COSC
movement on the display case back.

COSC: Controle Officiel des Suisse Chronometre.

About Chronometers:

A chronometer is a high-precision watch capable of displaying the seconds and housing a movement that has been tested over several days, in different positions and at different temperatures, by an official neutral body (COSC).
Each chronometer is unique, identified by a number engraved on its movement and a certification number given by the COSC.
Each movement is individually tested for several consecutive days, in 5 positions and at 3 temperatures.
Each movement is individually measured. Any watch with the denomination "chronometer" is provided with a certified movement.

The 2009 Sea Time Limited

However the main difference is
that the L.E. has blue screws.
Rather than the usual silver that are
commonly seen.

There is also a individual serial number
that's painted on the dial up to 100.
This is to indicate that 100 of this model
will be made.

Cheers,
Simon
