Way more watch then can be reasonably expected for the price. Solid heavy case with classic lines, yet not another Submariner clone. The best bracelet I've handled. Big without being ridicilous. I am not sure what the correct format would be for a review, but I can tell you that this watch has exceeded my expectations. It has been running fast about 10 - 12 seconds a day, which I consider very acceptable for unregulated Japanese automatic. Conventional wisdom says that it will probably setlle in and slow down a bit over the next few weeks. While lume is not on the par with my SEIKO divers, it is acceptable - after charging the watch around 10PM, at 4AM hand and markers were dim but vizible. Most of the photos of it (mine included) do not do it justice. It is heavy - you feel it on your wrist, and I happen to like the feeling (the fact that I do like that feeling explains why I don't have any titanium watches in my collection). Sapphire crystal, thick supple screw adjusted bracelet with solid end pieces and milled (not stamped) clasp, big chunky signed crown, the fact that all surfaces on the case and bracelet are done in brushed finish (no "bling" on this one) - all of this combines to form a "tool" charachter of this watch.  I actually have a few other watches with no date function and even a couple without seconds (see below) I think it adds to the "tool-like" quality of the watch - a tool dedicated to only one task - telling time, and in the case of a diver - telling time underwater.   |

Very nice looking watch! A couple questions....is this the new watch that is a result of the Bernhart Instruments "breakup"? Does "Japanese movement in your description mean Miyota? ....and what is the size excluding crown? I actually like the no date....it makes it easier when you swutch every day (or more)! Oh...Also, link? |

I can not coment on the what went on with Bernhardt Instruments, since I know very little (nothing) about it. This watch is produced and sold by Bernhardt Watch Company, of which Fred Amos is the owner. Here is the link: http://www.bernhardtwatch.com/ (Fred GOT to take better pictures) Movement is Miyota. The case is 42mm, but wears slightly larger in my opinion. |
