Just wondering if there is anyone out there who happens to be a Lion?  I am a member here in Pa.  I am pres this year.  Just seeing if I have more in common than just watches with anyone out there.

My father was a Knights of Columbus member. I don't see as much of these social/charitable groups in my generation (in my circles). Now I'm curious to see how membership numbers are doing nationally.
Good question Scottran, and congratulations on your Presidency.

Thanks AJ.  I joined Lions in 96.  The reason I joined was the community has been good to me and my business so this was a way for me to give back.  I would soon have service orgs. like the lions helping people that the govt taking my money and giving it to those who may not deserve it.  We are in touch with our communities and help those in thier time of need.  Our club and many others do more than just the blind anymore.  We support many youth programs, have helped families that lost thier homes due to fire. People who have been injured and unable to work.  We have helped families who have had children that died with funeral expenses.  And, of course, the blind from glasses, transportation, job placement, vision screening and diabetes research.  Plus many more things.  Our club iis an old club, I am the younges at 39.  Many are over 50 into the 80's.  We just cant get people my age to join.  We are down to 40 members.  So, if any of you are thinking you may like to help out in your community there are many fine organizations out there you can join.  If interested PM me and I will see if i can get you info.

Thanks guys. ;) But all of it counts. Service to country and community. Many here have been service to one or the other and some both. I salute you all. :) Back to Scott looking for Lions. ;)
