I think my Dad had one of those. I had a Pentax K1000 for 3 weeks. While in the Navy I bought one in Hong Kong and then the next port we hit Singapore it was stolen. Did not bother with getting another camera for years.

My first SLR was a sturdy Yashica which was followed by the Canon A1. It gave a couple of years of fun until I started moving up to the Nikon F2 Photomics with MD12 motordrives and about 4 tons of lenses, filters, tripods, flashguns, battery packs and all that a gadget freak would dream of. My back-ups were the Nikon FM2, of which I carried around 3 and all with motordrives. Then I also snagged a Nikonos. So I guess I was the weirdest shutterbug on the block with all of those . They're all gone now and I just kept myself a mint condition FM2 as a memento to the past. Simon, thanks for bringing this up.

You're welcome,Jeff. I'm non judgmental therefore, I can't really say that about being a shutterbug. The Nikon F2 was the most versatile camera that the company ever put on the market. This camera had 3 motordrives in it's lifetime. The MD-1,MD-2 and the later MD-3. There were 2 battery packs the MB-1 (Holds 12 AA) and MB-2 (NiCad). The MD-2 had a Single or Continuous frame for shooting,were as both the MD-1 and MD-3 didn't have this mode. (Needs to be confirmed). The internal chassis of the Pentax K series, were the same as those found on the Spotmatic series. When the M-42 thread mount were being phased out, Pentax simply re-used the old chassis on the newer K-mount cameras. Cheers, Simon
