Nick you can't beat a peaceful setting imho....that's why I left the city over 20 yrs. ago when my kids were born....here is a slice of my heaven...my backyard which is pretty bare right now but 9mos out of the year it is loaded with wildflowers and covered in greenery....

Western NC, 15 miles from the TN border and about 35 miles west of Asheville in the mountains, about 3900 feet, no lake or river on my property but plenty of good fishing around here from what I've been told, not into fishing.

I have just shy of 3 acres but it's pretty steep on the side of the mountain, more buffer than anything.

I lve in NC and often go to the montains. Last year I spent TdY at the Devils Gap not far you I think

Technically we are in Clyde but "pretty far out there" as the locals say, we are off exit 15...not sure where Devils Gap is

Yeh....life can be pretty terrible...this is from a couple of years ago....the only time snow has stuck to the ground since I moved here in 96....the boys loved it.

Awesome pics Ken.  I have been thinking I may have to considering moving out to your neck of the woods when I retire.  When I was in Vegas last month, my asthma had virtually disappeared in that dry air.  Felt great not to be coughing and breathing easy.  BTW, i woke up to about 2 inches of snow today... YUCK!
