I had a computer teacher back in high school in Flagstaff(beautiful woman, first teacher crush for me ) who used to bow-hunt javelinas every year with her husband down by Phx somewhere.

I've only seem them once in 15 years in AZ, trotting along I-10 just north of Picacho(?) Peak. Mama pig and her 5 little ones.

I'd never go near one, I always heard they were dangerous too.
