I must say, with total respect (and with one notable exception) that picture is of some very brave men.  In that photo is Bandido Charlie's 4th Platoon Sergeant, BC7 - my 1st SGT, BC1 - 1st Platoon Leader, (moi), BC5 - my Executive Officer, my Artillery FO and, finally, BC4 -4th Platoon Leader.

The photo was taken at Fire Support Base Riley, south of Lai Kai RVN, 19 APR 1969.  The young 1LT (BC1) standing to my right was once a member of the Old Guard that guards the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier....a unit discussed by TNY in one of her great TODAY posts.

Needless to say, they are not all alive today.

Ken,

Thank you for your service.  I think the real question is what kind of watch are you wearing?
