Anybody else hooked on the HBO series Rome? On a lark I watched the first episode of season one in 2005 and became addicted. I got the DVD set for Christmas and watched the season in its entirety in preparation for the new season. After episode 1 of season two, I can say I am not let down. Season 1 focused on Caesar's rise to power and closed with his assassination. Looks like season 2 will examine the rush to fill the power void. The series is presented mainly through the eys to two soldiers and has plenty of historical perspective with a dash of sex and violence. If you like Deadwood, you'll like Rome. I am a huge Deadwood fan too. More info from the source: http://www.hbo.com/rome/?ntrack_para1=leftnav_category0_show2 |
