The idea flops and they are all withdrawn. 1963 Beatles begin touring with Helen Shapiro at the Bradford Gaumont, following their debut appearance on Thank Your Lucky Stars. 1968 The first Genesis single, The Silent Sun,, is released in UK. 1981 Duran Duran release first single Planet Earth. Punk’s James Dean… What's In The CD Player?? ![]() Triple Fast Action Broadcaster Forming out of the ashes of Rights of the Accused, Wesley Kidd's Triple Fast Action arrived a few beats too late. The band's full-throttle, post-Nirvana rock would have played better in 1993 than in 1996, when this type of thing was already going out of style. Despite having renowned producer Don Fleming behind the boards and a major label budget, Broadcaster suffered not only from bad timing, but also from a near complete lack of promotion, which generally spells d.e.a.t.h. for any band, major label or not. Predictably, the album went nowhere. Despite the fact that its music -- a sludgy brand of punk-pop imbued with the appropriate amount of '90s-style angst -- seems a bit undistinguished in retrospect, Triple Fast Action deserved better. Well-crafted tunes like "American City World" and "Anna (Get Your Gun)" would have sounded much more welcome on the radio than anything by Bush or Seven Mary Three.
