Hi all

I am about to place an order for another OEM Omega mesh bracelet from my buddy in Australia. He used to work for Omega and now has his own business. I get these bracelets for $260 AUD (which equates today to bit under $200USD), and I can get a couple of each of 20, 22 and 24mm versions for that price, plus a bit of postage from me to you. I order, I get them, I pack and ship. He doesn't ship direct for that price. I would like to get the order wrapped up by the end of this week - 15th May 2009. Paypal is the go. I reckon I can only get him to part with a maximum of 6 units at this price, but since I can not use them all, I would like y'all to have a chance.

Anyone interested in joining the order? My research shows that the last 20mm Omega mesh sold for over $300USD on that bay...

Please pass all discussions to PM. Happy to let you know who he is and how we go about putting it together as an order. Yes, it is legit.

Cheers - IanM

Thanks O!

Happy to help wherever I can. My price is the same whether I order one or more, so there's no margin in it for me. I just love these bracelets and thought I would give members here a chance to get a new Omega mesh for less $$. Hey - if theres no interest that's OK, too - just tryin' to be neighborly....

Cheers all!

I'm thinking about picking up a Planet Ocean XL chrono.....this way I could buy the one with rubber strap and save some $$ on a mesh that would go well with it instead of the bracelet which I know is a $400. upcharge hand6.gifhand6.gif

thankyou.gifSilas and Darkman - yours and all other messages replied to. Order placed, but I think I can still add a couple to it before they leave Melbourne on Monday 18th May 2009 to get to me for inspection in Perth, and then get forwarded to you guys ASAP.

O - lemme know! I go to Melbourne pretty often, so if you want to wait until the next time I go there, that's fine with me!

Cheers and thanks for the orders guys - it will not be long now! Photos of your bracelets will be sent the moment I receive the items, just to put your minds at rest.

Thanks, Ian!  I'm eagerly awaiting the Mesh!  From the pictures you sent on your LM-7  I'm sure it's going to be an "eye Popper."

Just an update - the bracelets all arrived today and each and every one of them is perfect! I will be sending PMs to all those who ordered. I will post them out tomorrow when the Paypal side is sorted, so if you have not yet paid, please do so now to: ism@xlogistics.com.au . Just add $5 USD to the total for postage, if you would please. I must admit, it was like being in mesh heaven with all the bracelets on my work desk for a while today ! I am sure that you will all be well pleased! Cheers to all who participated! One more thing, Ian.  In South Louisiana, we have a thing called "lagniappe."  So, send me your address and I'll send you a "little something" from the Bayous of Louisiana.

I just got my mesh, Ian, and it is indeed BEAUTIFUL!!  Even nicer, thicker than I imagined.  No skimpy mesh here!

Tomorrow I'm going to my watch guy, have him take off the bracelet (which looks really good! And when he put it on said the tolerances were quite tight....no wiggle!)  and install the Omega Mesh.

My only concern is will it fit my wrist....6 3/4.  I know I won't need an extension, but hope I don't have to have any links cut!!   The suspense is killing me!

Thanks again to Ian for his kindness in providing this opportunity to actually get one of these great meshes!

   Cheers,  Mitch

I came very late to this party...I didn't see the thread until Ian was announcing shipment of the first "order".  Ian was kind enough to pick up another bracelet for me.  What a great guy.

Now I'm waiting for delivery, but I look forward to pictures from the early arrivals.  I cannot wait to get the mesh on my Seamaster 2254.50.

Again, thank you Ian!!!

Erik

Hi guys! One and all - you are very welcome! thankyou.gif

I am thrilled to have been able to help!

It would be a blast to see what others do with their bracelets. I like pics, too, Bigrusty - so these below are for you, good sir.

In the batch just purchased, I picked up a 20mm version for my Sumo watches. Here it is on the blue SBDC003.

I use these mesh bracelets on everything from a Zeno bullhead (takes a 22mm, had to squish the bottom to suit the curved bottom lug pin mistake.gif):

to an Ocean7 LM-7 (takes a 24mm):

and some time this week I should be able to show you what another 24mm Omega mesh looks like on my incoming black Orient 300m sat diver.

Silas, my wrist = just about the same, and I have to move the micro adjustment to somewhere between the last (longest) and the middle position of the clasp, so I know there is some up and down in measurements to play with. I expect that yours will be micro-adjusted to be perfect so long as the watch it is going on to is not over about 55mm lug to lug - because at that point, it is starting to look like the watch is about to overtake your wrist anyway!! More seriously, mate - I suggest that you will be fine with this one adjusted to suit. Very rarely are the stock bracelets too long! Those with longer wrists ordered the extension piece, too, and it would be nice to see the end result on their watches when they get the time to take a pic or two.

As mentioned earlier, I do not get many "deals" here in Australia - but I am dead-set thrilled that you guys like those you have received, and I hope that those of you still to receive them get the same buzz!

It is always a pleasure to do something nice for the fine folk of 3T!

Glad that you appreciate the deal - I hope they bring many years of joyful wear in good health, and a little bit of retro-looking good fun to sspecial watches in your respective collections.

Cheers- IanM ThumbsUp02.gif

IanM...what can I say?! Those timepieces look truly much better with that mesh strap. Best looking Zeno I have ever seen. I don't even know they had that model available. I spent a few minutes just studying that uncommon Zeno dial. The Seiko Sumo hand6.gifand mesh combine is the one I like the most!

Wear them all in good health, mate!! And thanks for sharing.

Man, that Bali Hai was gorgeous!

Well, Ian, I got the Mesh put on today and it fit PERFECTLY. I'm convinced the bracelet is really for the small wristed .  And my 6 3/4 was 2 notches from the longest hole.

Cinderella found her glass slipper!

In the future, I may be looking for an 18mm for my Reduced Speedy, or 20mm for a Marathon Sar.  Any pictures of those around, guys?.

If anyone has a picture of the LM-2 or SAR on an Omega Mesh, please post them.

Thanks again, Ian!!

WOW Darkman face4.gif!! That looks fabulous! Not too much gap between the lug and the watch case - perfect! You wear your bracelet the same way I do - with the clasp at 12 and the loop at 6. I find that this makes it easier for me to pop the loop into the clasp when I "buckle up". The Omega symbol is therefore technically upside down when you look under your wrist to see the clasp - but you know what - I reckon it is more comfortable that way, and makes it easier to get off at the end of the day! Others will disagree - but I reckon we got it right!

Silas - you're such a gentleman - thank you again ;). I understand that Omega make 20, 22 and 24mm mesh bracelets only, so no 18mm from them - but I am sure that I can call on the AD in future to get a similar deal for another 20mm version whenever you are ready. Just let me know and I will ask! And I am really happy that the setup on your watch makes it fit within the micro adjustment on the standard clasp with no removal of mesh bits. Just terrific! hand6.gif ! Oh - forgot to ask - what watch did it go onto? As for pics of the Marathon watches, I have not seen any at all, Silas, but I will try to do some searching and see if I can trawl one up on the fora somewhere. I will be busy writing monumental thoughts today - with a little help from my lagniappe ;).  Go Cinderella!

Cheers and please keep the pics coming - this is more fun than Christmas!

:D

Thanks. Yeah, I saw that most people wear them the other way, so this might be "backwards", but it seemed more comfortable to me; I'm used to having the buckle of a strap on the top side of the watch.

Absolutely right, mate. And if you are right handed - you will also find that it is much easier to remove this way, too :D

I have many of these bracelets and I agree with you 100%. I find that I fumble with the clasp too much when it is on the other way around! There is no "must do" etiquette with Omega bracelets!

Out of interest, I have even seen photographs of Omega Ploprofs in the Omega Museum, and Omega themselves have put some Isofrane (rubber) straps on upside down with the ribs (which should be on the wrist) on the outside!

You can't "get it wrong", Darkman - you have done what feels best for you - and that is exactly what we should all do!!

Your BH looks BRILLIANT in this combo!

Cheers again! IanM hand6.gif

Hi there O!

FAB-U-LOUS!

I have not seen too many pics of the PO 45.5 on mesh out there - would love to see more if you have taken any!

With Summer coming for you guys in the US of A, I think you will also soon experience the other wonder of mesh - natural airconditioning for the wrist... :)

Cheers O - IMHO it is the ultimate expression of cool10.gif in a dive watch - and a perfect fit for your beautiful PO. Congratulations!

Keep the pics coming guys! I am so pleased that you like them!

I got a chance to fit my Omega mesh to one of my vintage chronos today to check out the fit and feel.  I plan to get a Speedy Moonwatch when the right one jups out at me.  This is the first time I buy a strap before the watch!subtlelaugh.gif

The fit is perfect, at maximum length. The feel is very comfortable and soft on the wrist.  In short - perfect!woohoo.gif

Ian, thanks for offering this deal to fellow 3T'ers. Much appreciated!thankyou.gif

Hi again Graham!

I know you added the mesh to this watch just to check the fit, but your vintage chrono looks bl**dy great on mesh anyway! perfect.gif

Thanks for all the kind words, fellas! I enjoyed facilitating!

And if I get a sniff of any more deals from my ex-AD here, or anyone else - you can rest assured that I will happily do the same again.

Ian,  Just TODAY snagged a STOWA SEATIME diver....22mm lugs.  I'm thinking this will look magnificent on an OMEGA MESH.  Have you heard of anyone with a Seatime on an Omega Mesh?

I'm thinking it should be better than the standard bracelet.  I'll receive the watch in about a week, so, if you get a chance to look into some more Omega meshes, count me in for a 22mm one.

I'll be seeing how it looks on the standard bracelet and rubber to begin with....but I know it won't be long before I'll be "hankering" for the Omega Mesh.

Thanks again for the mesh for the Ocean 7 LM-7.  Gets LOTS of compliments!

Cheers from the Bayou Country1
