Hi Guys,
just a short post to tell you the Megalodon will come.
We don't have 50 pre orders yet but I found an private sponsor who helps me out.
We decided to make some changes, a bit more water resistance and some other goodies.
More infos on Monday, please do not send emails or pm's because of the Megalodon till then.
I will sort all over the weekend  and that needs some time.

Next Monday I will tell you all the news, but sure is we will do it.snoopy1.gif

Best Regards Ralf

Ok so now the news:
 First the bad news.
Early pre order price has to be $600
in PVD $650
DLC is only available if I find a factory I am satisfied with  , till now I am not
Bezel is not changeable for you

Now the good news
For a MEGALODON I think 500m is a bit to less, the biggest shark ever and  than only 500m like the Moray..........
We will make it 2500m that matches better to Mega
also antimagnetic but not sure until price and with automatic helium valve
we still offer 3 different bezels
to choose
one in acrylic with lume ( but the lume cannot be made so strong
one with  inlay and strong lume
and one in full steel
we will offer some new drawings in the next days.
You can choose between a polished blased brushed or PVD case finish
The acrylic bezel is only available for polished or brushed it cannot be made in blasted or PVD
 Rest is the same
ETA 2824-2
double domed sapphire
steel bracelet
dark grey brushed dial
LE 100pcs

I think the $50 more for 2000m more depth and antimagnetic and  a automatic valve is ok.

The early pre order price is thought for all of you who are with us from the beginning. It is valid for 14 days.
Only one watch per person for this price.

All who already made their deposit and think  the 50 more is not ok please contact me I will refund, no problem.

Ralf that sounds good to me and very fair price my friend.:) You bet I'm still in. We will just play the wait and see on the DLC for the LE. If that can't be done I may go brushed or PVD. But will just wait and see. Thanks Ralf and keep up the great work buddy. ;)

Ralf,

That is great news - I am most certainly still in.

Does the automatic HRV mean there will not be a knob on the side of the case (like the Sea Devil)?

yes...auto HRV means no crown...it is a much higher complication and looks like a button flush on the case side as used on much higer end watcheshand6.gif

Great Ralf. The add-ons are excellent and just what I was hoping for.

Its a pleasure to be part of a project that I expect (and hope) in time will be viewed as an iconic and reveered dive watch.

All the best,

I am still in, most likely brushed, but I would like to see the bezel options again once we know what the whole watch will look like. Am I wrong in thinking that the bracelet has not been finalized yet? I believe the design was still under review by the factory.

Even at $600, it's a steal!!!  Can anybody tell me were we can find another watch with these specs, under $2000?  Definitely, BENARUS is a different company, i just hope it will stay that way.

And there is no way i will ask for a refund because of an extra $50.  #38 is still MINE!  Very good work guys!  I cannot imagine what will be next...

Yes this is a great deal, and only for the 3T group. I have been busy with setting up Benarus here in Kansas, and I will be launching the new Benarus website maybe later today, but the Megalodon will not appear on benarus.com until this 3T preorder is closed. This is a special deal for the members here.

This is already a classic piece, I had a friend of mine over this last weekend, he is not a WIS, and he saw lots of my watches, he saw different models in my 2009 buyers guide, he saw future watch drawings and ideas I am working on for Benarus, but then he saw my print out schematics of the Megalodon and he kept talking about it all night, he would say "I got to find a way to get that shark watch"

Just looking for clarification - I would also like Number 11 to go with my 16.

no one knows what the after pre-order price will be yet and as  Ralf said will be much higher than the $600. pre-order price which was a ThankYou to forum members for their participation and loayalty to Benarus...perhaps a little restraint will go far here as many members have not had the chance to get in on the 1 only pre-order due to financial conflicts at this time and it would be nice to see everyone at least get 1 imho especially those who have been patient,my suggestion to Ralf is to hold off seconds until he closes the pre-order as to not confuse the order and that everyone has a chance at a # they would like...remember this watch is still 5-6 mos. away hand6.gif

Hi guys. Does anyone know if the Megalodon will be coming in the same sort of package as the Sea Devil, i.e with the case, tools, extra strap etc, or is it coming with the SS strap only?

Ralf/Steve,

I know you are both busy (Moray, Megalodon, and now the Rover), but just curious if you have the updated pictures for the Megalodon?

Also, when do you need for us to specify what options we would like (bezel, finish, ect.)?

I know you have many other irons in the fire right now, I just wanted to make sure that I am not missing anything for the Mega.

Thanks again for all your hard work making this watch become a reality.

Sorry not yet, I am still discussing the bezel with the manufacturer
this takes always a lot of time per email until they make it how I like it. That is why I prefer to visit them even if I hate the long flight.
As soon as I have a final drawing  I will post it
than you can specify how you like it.
 Regards Ralf

I know you are both busy (Moray, Megalodon, and now the Rover), but just curious if you have the updated pictures for the Megalodon?

Also, when do you need for us to specify what options we would like (bezel, finish, ect.)?

I know you have many other irons in the fire right now, I just wanted to make sure that I am not missing anything for the Mega.

Thanks again for all your hard work making this watch become a reality.

I agree -- the special edition MORAY should be the only exception.

That makes allot of sense ... and the Moray BRG edition even more significant.

Well I have this thing for sharks and dragons  lol.. When i was a kid I studied and read everything put out about sharks.. I was going to be a marine biologist or oceanographer but when i got to colledge and i had to bail. alot of personal strife and such hit all at once.. well my 2 favorite sharks of all time are the Megalodon and thrasher.. so regardless of specs on this watch.. I had to have it.. I was so excited with the 2 possible case backs.. I love Benarus log alot but to have either 1 of these megalodon case backs was like icing on the cake.. I do hope they stay with em

I prefer the 'jaws' caseback design, but honestly I would only look at it maybe 0.1% of the time. I don't see the fuss in wanting the original Benarus caseback. Although all Benarus watches to date are limited runs, the Megalodon is especially rare, only 100 units to be made, and it is the first Benarus with a Swiss movement, it will be the biggest (and baddest) Benarus. This together with the BRG Moray will have different casebacks.

Anyway, I think we are set on the 'jaws' for the caseback design of the Megalodon.

Now, if you wanted to discuss whether or not the Worldiver GMT should or should not have the Benarus logo caseback, or some other original design, I think that should be up for discussion.

Are we still able to get in on the pre-order?  I've got to have one of these outstanding watches.  Please let me know how much to send and where to.  Thank you for your time.

Soopah - you sure about this? I thought Ralf's plan was to make an initial run of 100 in the 1st dial design with more to come in other dial designs/colours.

And to EricG - you might want to have a look at the other sticky thread at the top about the Megalodon - the pre-order closed recently. Never hurts to try contacting Ralf though. :)

Biker, thanks for the reply. I was a little confused between the two threads, and was not sure if pre-order was still open.  Thanks for the info.
