My first post here, and I'm happy/excited to say I just paid for my #43 Moray today!  I went with Dial 3 w/orange hand, and I can't wait.

My question is about the leather strap the comes with the watch, I've read Leather/rubber/metal is included.  Is the color combo of the leather strap predetermined for each dial color, and if so which one comes with Dial #3.  If it is not set in stone is it possible to make a polite request for a certain color from those pictured on the "Leather Straps" section of the website.

I wouldn't complain about any color really, but since I already have a black strap w/white stitching it would be nice to get the brown/sand strap as the option.

Any clarification would be great.

One more question while I'm at it.  For those who already have a Sea Devil, how is the metal strap with the butterfly clasp in terms of fitment and being adjustable?  It looks amazing but seems to lack the micro adjustment that the other clasp offers.

I assume everyone on here is sharing the same sort of excitement as I have for this watch!  Thank goodness I didn't know about it back in early 2009, the wait would have killed me!

Hello, welcome and congrats on getting a Moray!! The leather strap is a different style from the ones shown on the website that were included with the Sea Devil. The Moray strap is to remain a surprise, just for fun, and I hope you will like it.

I like the sounds of that!  Those ones pictured sure do look nice though, can't wait to see what you've got in store for us!

Is the rubber strap pictured in the sample pics the one that will be shipping with the watch?

Are you referring to the "extra" leather strap provided as compensation for the delays?

When making my final payment Ralf asked me to choose between dark brown, mid brown or light brown as the colour to be supplied.

I wasn't asked about any "extra strap" when I placed my order so I'm not sure.  I'd love to get another though, especially a brown one as I think it would look great on the silver dial!

About 230 from the 300 watches are ready assembled and will be shipped to Steve and me next week , no EU or USA customers will get their watch directly from the factory.

Some PVD buckles are not back from coating but you will soon get your watchessnoopy1.gif

The leather straps seem to have some problems :(, I only saw some pics and they are not ok, but I will check this with the strap factory next week.

we have to send the leather straps later if not good and it looks that way

I'd rather have them later than to have a product that isn't ready to be shipped.  So I won't complain about the leather coming after the watch arrives.

Will all Moray orders come with an extra leather strap, or just select ones?

I'll add another question about shipping.  When the time comes for it to be shipped which carrier is used and will it be shipped from the US for right from the factory?  My only concern is having fedex or UPS ship it, as going to Canada, they charge us huge brokerage fee's.  USPS does not charge any at all.

Sorry for all the Q's

Well, I have to say that this is good news and bad news. The bad nes is that thereis a problem with the leather straps. :( Oh well.

The Good news, I am willing to wait for the straps so that they are right. The other thig that is good is the communication abobut what is going on.hand6.gifhand6.gifhand6.gifhand6.gifhand6.gif.

And the last thing is that they are almost all donesmile8.gif. I can not wait!!!!!

Any idea if it's possible to request to use a different mail carrier?  I'd hate to pay another $50 on top of the $50 for shipping.

I agree also with the amount of feedback, it's amazing customer service to be able to ask the owner of the company questions and get honest answers back.  It's appreciated!

Don't worry Cam... While I can't speak for Ralf & Steve, I would assume the FIDDY we shelled will get the Moray to your doorstep! boy10.gif

Thanks Ralph for the update. This is a good example of CS communication. I am as anxious as the nexrt WIS, but things will happen in production that is beyond control. This is not the first time for me and it will not be my last. Bottom line is delays WILL happen. Ralph and Steve have treated most of us as if we are VIPs. You don't find this level of committment every day. Take your time Ralph, I know you will only put out the best because that is who you are. Thank you for all you do for us.

That much at least is fantastic news!  I can wait for the straps if it means they're going to be good quality, I'm sure I'll find some leather to put the watch on in the meantime though!
