hello to all here.

I am in need of a solid, stainless steel, 3 stem, black faced, automatic or manual movement, chronograph, at least 42 mm across the watch face, with nicely finished graduated bezel. I do not wear quartz, battery powered watches. I am leaving  or Iraq shortly to work in the sandbox again, and 'I need a dependable timepiece. My thanks to all. Rickcool10.gifthankyou.gif

Well Rick welcome to 3T and good luck to you.  The CSAR that Steve is showing you is a beast and suppose to be able to take a beating.

Yes the CSAR has a 7750 auto movement in it.  One vendor you can check with is broadarrow (pricing is somewhere around $2395 msrp, and they are  limited quantity, so I would jump if they have them in stock)...

Thanks, but that's way too rich for my blood. For that money, I could get a Tag Huer Carerra or an Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch. I had more in mind of under 800.00. Thanks though. Nice piece. Rick

Hamilton makes some nice chronos, that I believe can be had under $1000, maybe less, from the bay...   like this Xwind -

Here is a great preowned watch (George von Burg)from an excellent dealer (The Watchseller) that is nicely price at $790 (100mm Water Resistant)

http://www.watchseller.com/georjvonburs.html

And, from the same source, an ORIS Big Crown Chronograph (BNIB) for $890.  (50mm Water Resistant)

http://www.watchseller.com/orbigcrowchr.html

This is a highly recommended seller!

Ken, thanks but they are not what I am looking for. Need a rotating bezel, Aviators or Diver's chrono, under 800.00, at least 42mm, like the Omega Speedmaster. Need something waterproof, like the old Seiko Diver's watches, and either auto or manual, mechanical movement. Thanks though for the referral. Rick

Maybe a Chase Durer UDT 1000 might be worth looking at, this is a very tough watch non reflective case (PVD) 300m screwdown crown and pushers, lume is good but not nuclear.

It is quartz but as a beater BRING IT ON it will not let you down.
