Today I got news from the MEGALODON

The quotation is much higher than I thought, but ok with some small changes it could work and we can stay by the $550 early pre order price.

I still have to sell Sea Devils , the Moray will come and I also have to pay my long long time ago ordered Fricker Divers.
Normally this is the worst time to start a new project
but the Megalodon created so much interest that I cannot say it is only a dream.
I want it and I guess and hope you too.

Now what is finally most important  for me is how many will really buy for $550 (in steel) with $250 deposit with the conditions below.

- Expected release is in 5 month - 6 month
 -Eta 2824 movement
 -47mm case with 49mm bezel
- Steel bracelet
- bezel design #1 but with 3 different options, luminos acrylic or enamel , alloy inlay      and  steel
- sapphire cristal
- WR minimum 500m maybe a bit more
- very very close to the design below  (first 4 dials) brushed dark grey and different hands

I know we discused a second dial but almost all who asked me for a reservation asked for dial one, so I think if the interest is really as high I have make 100 pcs from dial one to satisfy all reservations

 It can become reality!

Btw.

PVD coating ($50) or DLC coating( I still have to check the exact price ) is also possible

Does this mean that there will be no option for blue or red carbon fiber?

No it doesn't ( I love the carbon dials) but the Megalodon threads  became a bit confusing and I have to know how many are serious in this configuration and design
to make the dial in carbon instead of brushed is the smallest problem

Just as long as it's no bigger than the Sea Devil and can come in red or blue carbon fiber, I'm in for #11!

Can you bring the price down with Miyota Mvt ?  Or has the decision been made to use ETA ?  My Cave Dweller and Orsa Monstrum have Miyota, and the sweep second hand seems fine to me.

It seems the interest for the Eta is much higher so lets wait for the responses first

Any news is good news! I like the price, $550 with ETA movement is good. I am in for one, and if 1-100 I want #72, if 1-50 then #42. When are you looking for the deposit? I was hoping to have one watch (Moray) before putting down a deposit for another, but you let us know when you need it.

I like the idea of the red carbon fibre dial. If that is offered I think I might switch to that dial. No, I cannot buy two! :) I think the DLC will be more than I am willing to pay, but I'd like to know how much that would cost as an option. I'll probably stay with the brushed SS.

What is the situation regarding:
"I also have to pay my long long time ago ordered Fricker Divers"

Is this related to the 100 LE of the Barracuda, or something else?

I am still in Ralph, since you first started this thread.  DLC #8 with the #1 dial that has the red accents. What is the difference between the acrylic and enamal  inlay? That is the only thing I am not sure of.

Hi Ralf,

Count me in for Dial #1  (watch #5 if available).

If you do offer the Red Carbon Fibre dial option, that's what I'd like the most!

And I sent you an email earlier today about the Megalodon - in case you were wondering if I am the same person as the rvs1111 emailer.   ;)

Thanks!

Ralf,

I'd be in for Brushed #8.  But could someone explain to me the three different bezel options?

- bezel design #1 but with 3 different options, luminos acrylic or enamel , alloy inlay and  steel

I am in for 2.  Dial 1 #88 and Blue Carbon Dial #78 (If Blue carbon fiber doesnt happen then I might go for Dial 4 with DLC depending on price)

Are we sending in money yet?

Enamel means the will be a dial ring and than filled with transparent enamel
or we make an acrylic inlay. The enamel can be done I have seen some samples
I know, the acrylic can be also done I but I am still searching for a good factory

Ralf,

That is great news!  Thanks for the update.  I am in for one as well - number 3 please or number 100 (if 3 is taken).  I will pick all the specifics as we iron them out (hands, finish, etc.).  Just let me know when you want the deposit.  This is going to be a great one.

Regards,

Patrick

Congrats on your new family addition (and I am not talking about the Megalodon).  They should both be arriving about the same time and probably close to the same weight!

I am in.  Ralph, the original Meg thread has me down for #007. I know someone in this thread asked for 7, but sorry that one is mine.

I am hoping since you are making 100,  you can put 007/100 on the case back.

Wow, you are like the guy on the Burger King meal deal commercials, he can't pick his favourite, they are all good! So your favourite has to be Sean Connery!

I'm surprised you didn't mention Pierce Brosnan, the Irish Bond. I'm looking forward to him narrating the new Thomas & Friends series.

I guess Pierce was a little old for the role, then again, so was Sir Connery in the last few films he did.

Bond is a character you can envision as a young man, as portrayed by Daniel Craig, or as a mature mid-life man, as most of the other actors portray him in their early movies. Eventually, Pierce, Sean and Roger were of an age where Bond seemed a little long in the tooth for my vision of Bond. That said, I liked Die Another Day with Halle Barry a lot.

Anyway, they are all cool movies! My top three Bond's would be Sean, Pierce and Daniel. I think Timothy Dalton is my least favourite Bond, then George Lazenby and Roger Moore.

Oops, and I see we have hijacked this thread with OT nonsense. Sorry!

Um, will there be a red Carbon fibre dial option available? ;-)

i am in for one. that red carbon fibre dial would be awesome if it came out looking like the picture with a deep burgundy color. But, if it is not made, i would be happy with ordering the black. don't care about number as long as i get one

Ralf - count me in for #9.

I have been away of easter holidays and have missed the action. Could I ask what happended to Stef's designs. I had the belief that a lot of peopled wanted to incorporate his designs. I do believe they do look cleaner. It would be great to have the 2nd dial option as we did with the Moray. Your thoughts?

Ralf,

I'm in for a MEGALODON.  The Sea Devil is by far the best purchase I've made in 2009 and the MEGALODON will be another.  If price becomes an issue I would not mind a Miyota in this one...very good movements and I really like it in the Sea Devil.
