It will be about 7 weeks before we can deliver the Dievas Vortex to those who preordered. So why not make use of this chance to gather some alternative strap options? To those who has the Vortex now, please take a picture and post it in here everytime you put a new strap on it. Who knows what we might do with the ideas. Thumbsup3.gif

Ill go first.

Just my opinion but I think a black leather strap would fit the Vortex perfectly although Oscar's post of his new Vortex on a brown leather strap is really a deadly combo. I liked that post a whole lot.;)

the Vortex looks awesome on any combo of strap imho....I just put mine on a black lizard pilots strap with ss hardware and white stitch and I have to say it looks sweeeet!....soon as it stops raining here I'll get some pics up....the strap really dreeses the Vortex up but keeps the tactical/mil look alive.yahoo.gif

how about silicone or rubber?

its very convinient, matt, plain and 'black' so it will make the case to 'soar' more imho :P

I was nicely surprised at how well the large SINN deployment fit.  the buckle and the case are so close in finish, you have to strain to see a difference.  Since the "transplant" was pic intensive i made a quick and dirty p-shop web gallery. It can be found here

Elemental....that Sinn deployment looks like a match made in watch heaven!!perfect.gif

The finish match between the deployment clasp and the Vortex case looks like it matches perfectly.

Very cool!

the Sinn rubber on deployant looks awesome...maybe Anders could make one for the Vortex with the Vortex/Dievas logos hand6.gif...in the meantime mine has landed on a desert tan Zulu and will stay there for awhile! yahoo.gif

How about trying it on a black matt elephant skin panerei style strap, extra thick to fill up the height of the case

I think the grain would look awesome with the bead finish of the case

I agree with Joecb. The higher rise of the case will be picked up by the thicker leather. But again, if you ask me, the tan/brown strap Oscar posted a while back on his Vortex is tops.hand6.gif I don't think anything elese can beat that combo on the Vortex.;)

Another winner here Oscar on the desert tan Zulu.

Looks fantastic...it's becoming pretty clear that it is hard to make the great looking Vortex look bad.woohoo.gif

Interesting. Interesting. A molded rubber strap might be a good idea. Ill look into it too.

I agree Anders, I molded to fit the lugs, extra thick, with a center higher strip, like the vostock in my Avatar, would definitly fit the bill.

Awesome combo Trent!....the Nato and Zulu straps all work perfect imo and a molded strap similar to the Dievas Divergraph would be cool!...here it is on a very soft J&S Brownie that fills the lug area pretty good too!...I'm thinking I'll order this Dievas premium strap for the Vortex in wavy tan/blk.stitch hand6.gif

oh yea! i like the look of the black stitching, and it looks really soft! the J&S looks good too, really looks tight between the lugs. I am not a big rubber strap guy but if Anders makes one i am sure it will be cool looking and i am sure i would have to have one!subtlelaugh.gif

the J&S brownie I have on the Vortex now is 24mm and from the looks the Dievas premium is also a supple leather and will fit nice and snug at 24mm in the 22mm lugs...from my experience these stitcheless straps fill the lugs nicely a size larger hand6.gif

lug and bracelet screws are never tight for me but I use a watchmakers bracelet sizing/lug screw tool that allows me to use 1 hand instead of trying to hold the watch and 2 screwdrivers in my hands while screwing :D

I got to say..I really do like the look of that gray Nato strap against the raw Bead blasted finish of the Ti, and the contrast of the black dial,

Also the brown leather in oagaspar,s pick gives it a very different look , it is amazing how the different straps alter the look so much...

It gives you a lot of use, with all the alternative strap options, very cool.

Oscar could you gives us more info on this set up? Maybe others know how it works but i sure do not. How is the watch held and how is the screw head on the bottom held when you rotate the top screw head? thanks Ocrap.gif

the bottom is stationary bladed, and the top is your pivot point..the watch is held in that honeycomb plastic block..  settle over stationary blade..  pivot top..  bang, comes apart...  and you can produce alot more torque with the setup, so its not too stressfull.  at least that is how i would want it to be used haha.

ive been eyeballing the "indian" version of that tool for a while. but always pass  because i can do well enough.  but it is becoming time where i shoud actually own it.

hi everyone!

i've been been following the discussion with interest...just love the look of the Vortex - and wondering what you kids think a chronissimo would look like on it?  too much strap maybe?

and...i hope that i'm not getting off topic or breaking any forum rules - but i did see a neat home-made strap bar removal "tool" on another forum that might be of interest:

I would love to see how the Vortex looks on a Carbon Fiber strap.  Can someone snap a photo if you have that combo?

Thanks. I had to use my cell phone camera, so the quality isnt good, but this strap is very good!!!

It is very light and flexible. Makes the watch very easy to wear.

Don't know how I missed this combo Oscar!!!! One of my favorites on your J&S Brownie.

Agree with you...love how it nicely fills the lug area.ThumbsUp02.gif...I tend to like the look of "no excessive gap" when it comes to the lug area.

Great combo there and thanks for posting!!!!woohoo.gif

That looks perfect on the Sinn deployment strap.  Does the Sinn strap mount correctly with the Vortex lugs, or did you have to do any mods?  If it's a pretty easy swap, that's probably what I'm going to do with mine once it gets here in October.

As for other straps, the Bond looks nice, and I'd also like to see the Vortex on a black Nato with a single grey stripe down the middle.

That looks perfect on the Sinn deployment strap.  Does the Sinn strap mount correctly with the Vortex lugs, or did you have to do any mods?  If it's a pretty easy swap, that's probably what I'm going to do with mine once it gets here in October.

As for other straps, the Bond looks nice, and I'd also like to see the Vortex on a black Nato with a single grey stripe down the middle.

the strap mounts with no modification whatsoever..  its like it was made for it.  perfect.gif

Hey bozz....well first, welcome to 3T!!!!  You will find this to be a very friendly and knowledgeable place for all that is WIS....feel free to jump right in and contribute wherever you can.  Glad to have you!!!

Very nice first post and sweet pic of your Vortex on the Zulu!!!!ThumbsUp02.gif

That is a super nice tactical combo!!!

I am very confused by your pic however...the bezel on this Vortex "counts down" from 60 minutes to 45 minutes in the first quarter of the bezel???  I have never seen a bezel like this...did you have Anders custom make this bezel for you??

Cool nonetheless...and congrats on the very sweet Vortex!!!

Hi Stew77,

Thanks for the welcome. I think that the Vortex would look GREAT on any band/strap..... My watch is #29 of the pre-order, all I can say is that the watch is great and Anders service is right up there with the very best. As far as the bezel on the watch I believe the first 30 pre-orders will have the countdown bezel instead of the count up bezel to make them a LE. Anyway the Vortex is one solid watch, GREAT job Dievas (Anders).......

I like that watch more and more each day.
It is so flexible based on the strap thanks to it's beautiful yet simple dial. Can be somewhat sporty or classy hand6.gif

Thanks for the reply bozz...I had no idea that Anders was doing the bezels this way for the first 30 pre-orders to make them an LE.  I'm not sure how I missed this...anyway, I'm waiting on #46 and can't wait to see the Vortex in person.

since they are all numbered that would make them all LE's....I would wait to hear from Anders here until making any assumptions as to why some have count down/count up bezels which btw work pretty much the same and some WIS actually prefer a count up bezel although most divers don't use them at all since this method of measuring dive time is pretty much antiquated since being introduced by Rolex in 1954 :D

Hi,

I did not make the assumption. Anders himself told me at time of payment in an email that the first 30 watches would have the LE countdown bezel to make them different from the rest. Do you really think I would make somthing like that up???? Give me some credit.

This has become an interesting topic (regarding the bezel type of either count-up or count-down).

I have seen many pics of sub-#30 Vortexes without the count-down bezel which was why I was really surprised to see bozz's (bozz's is the only Vortex I have seen so far with the count-down bezel which is why I assumed that Anders provided this one as a custom mod).  Hey...at least a few here at 3T have Vortexes from the single digit serial #'s.

I would say that I generally prefer the regular count-up bezel type...seeing this one definitely had me doing a double take.

Hey Anders...can you comment on what options you have going on based on Vortex serial #'s.

Thanks in advance.

1st of all I wasn't referring to you but just making a general statement,my apologies... there are 10 of us who already have a Vortex numbered 1-10 with the original 0-60 bezels so I don't know how the 1st 30 will be LE's?... and according to Anders post below this new batch will consist of serials up to 31 and they have the different bezel?...again they are all numbered LE's as shown in the pre-order thread 0-71 which are reserved by #  so the only thing making any of them different is the bezel and not the LE # imo...so that is why I stated that it would be best to wait and hear from Anders on this subject..

The first batch of Vortex is here! Hot off the watchmaking bench from Germany!

And undergoing our inhouse quality control.
This batch will consist of serials up to 31.

So for those who ordered earlier, we will be in contact you soon.
There is a little surprise for you. Only exclusive to those who preordered early.

Sincerely
Dievas Watch Company

Just to clear the misunderstanding.

Yes number 11-31 has the countdown bezel, we wanted to mix in a countdown bezel to accentuate the pilot theme of the watch. And also a little survey to how people like the different bezel. All others will have the regular time elapsed bezel.

We did ask each customer if they mind a countdown bezel before dispatch.

Best Regards
Dievas Watch Company

After seeing elemental's with the Sinn, a similar Dievas rubber with deployment would be great!

The Vortex looks great on every strap I have seen to date, and would still look "good" mounted on an old bird dawg's collar! subtlelaugh.gif

Although I still do not have an ETA for #77, I ordered today a Sinn strap with large deployant. In my opinion it is the best match I have seen, and the Sinn strap has a killer design.

I will probably enjoy it as well with my Monstrum...

I put a oiled tan on mine which I think looks great and is very supple and comfortable. Kept the Dievas buckle. I didn't really like the brown strap that came with the watch- too like skin tone and feel the darker brown sits nicer with it.

+1 on Bond, and also on Gray Nato straps. The Gray Nato looks like it matches the bottom lettering on the face. Is that right?
