stopped by my watch guy after getting the Orsa, just had an inkling that one of the screws for the strap was a little loose..............correctamundo

I digress...as I was waiting Eric was sizing a watch for a customer noticed the watch he had on his wrist to be an Invicta Tungsten/Ceramic didn't say much until Eric brought out from his bench the Invicta Prowler in Blue steel, let me tell you that watch is freaking awesome...not for $799 though. Truthfully I was impressed with both timepieces.

We had a little chat....I invited him to stop by 3T.

Of course he asked my opinion of Invicta......I was politesnoopy1.gif

Sorry for the cross-post but this seemed to fit with this thread and is all I can offer on/about Invicta myself.  I had some unexpected time the other day, so I went to BJs and "window shopped". A year or so ago I found a Gruen Swiss 2824-2 with display back, deployant, 100m rating, etc. for $39 in BJs traveling watch show. Nice watch - my only 2824-2 and I like it - particularly for the price.  Well the traveling watch show was back at BJs again. No great deals. There were Gruens and Elgins but they were all Quartz movement watches

The interesting thing was that there were a LOT of Invictas on display. I've never handled any Invictas and haven't offered an opinion on them before other than to point newbies to some experiences of others.  So, I finally got to handle some Invictas and see what they are like in person. How do I say this........they failed to meet my expectations - every single one that they had there. When I looked closely there was something odd, wrong, or off about every one. Several had hairs embedded in the lume or dial paint. Two had finger prints under the crystal. One had a crown that was at an angle. I realize that these were the "on sale" Invictas but I didn'f find that sort of problem on any of the Gruens and only one Elgin and they were selling for less ($39 vs $59).

I've been tempted in the past by some prices on Invictas at Amazon and elsewhere but after handling 15+ of them now, I've become convinced that a lot of the comments here are not just folks with a bad attitude (sorry).

Doc..............thanks for the contribution....it is sad that Invicta took the route they did.  It was once a promising company (albeit now obvious that it was built on smoke and mirrors) that abandoned it's goal, principals and customers.
