Don't have one myself... and that is a shame... I have seen CJ's up close and personal and can tell you it sure appears to be one solid diver. Personally, I have always found the bezel a little blingy, but the watch is the real deal. As with almost any Tissot, you get a high quality watch for a very resonable price.

I am certain some of the others will chime in as I know Skip and Ken have these and love them....

You might take a look a Ken's excellent review here or at TWB where it has been revived.

I had the 1000 model for about 4 months. It was on the rubber strap, and I loved it. The only reason I got rid of it was that I gave it to my nephew, who is a USMC 2nd Lt., and was leaving on deployment. He told me he liked it, so I gave it to him, and it is currently in a combat zone, and he says several of his buddies all want one now.

He says he wears it in a real harsh sandy environment, and it holds up well.

If I'm not mistaking the Tissot 1000 is one of OA's favorite watch. I saw one in a mall last Sunday, it is big and beautiful and the exibition back let's you enjoy the beauty of the movement. Great choice, never heard anything bad about it.

For the price the Tissot Seastar 1000 is a pretty good value and a sturdy watch.  I especially like the lack of cyclops on the crystal, despite the tiny date window.  That said, I've owned two and flipped both (the silver and black dial) - in the end, I didn't care for the polished finish up top (its brushed on the side - I prefer it brushed completely, or polish on surfaces I cannot see, as I hate the shine and bling).  The rubber band was top notch, among the best I've ever had on any watch.  The bracelet was fine but again, I did not like the polished finish.  Also the hands were a little thin and arrow second hand was small (the "T" counterweight was cool though).  For $300 its a good watch.  Never had any watertightness problems like reported on other boards.

As for the comparison to the Oris TT1 above, when I compare both Tissots to my Oris TT1 Titan, I find the Oris to be superior in almost every way, but to each their own.  The Oris Titan though, is slightly thicker than a normal TT1, so maybe thats why I like it more.  Only hangup with the Oris is the presence of polished links on the bracelet, but then maybe I am just odd in liking brushed/blasted finish instead of something flashy that will attract attention.

Well Guys, Here's the update.....................Gonna get me one of dem Big ole Seastars 1000-But........Not from the Local AD!!!!!!!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$?????????????? I live in small city CANADA and the PRICES!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY MOLY MAN!!!!!!!!!!! So....... off to the Online Search My friends.

PS-For your enjoyment...............

As I'm in the AD browsing, a young feller (20-21) strolls in,-The AD asks him if he could help him (kinda Suspiciously-as the kid looked like he just jumped bail!!!) The kid browses the TISSOT display and points to a T-TOUCH Compass and says-I'll take that one - $1500.00???????? Pulls out a Credit Card-The young AD looks at the card signiture as he's ringing it in-picurlarly-Pays the transaction complete and Leaves????? I wanted to tell the poor kid to shop online and save 2/3rds of what he was spending there-However, The only 2 GOOD repair shops/watchmakers in the Province are owned by HIS FATHER!!!!!!! Hard to find a good watch maker, experienced and cheap LOL

I just got the blue version from jomashop.com for $350.00. That's the cheapest I've been able to find one on the internet.

I have a Seastar 1000 on rubber. It is usually my travel watch, and it keeps great time. What I don't like about the watch is the bezel, it almost feels plastic. Also, I have a problem with the time/date set. Sometimes when I am tightening the crown after I set the time, it changes the date.

I recently bought a Seastar 1000 after sitting on the fence for a long time.  I didn't think I would like that bezel but, especially on the silver dial version, it looks much better in person.  here's mine:
