I got this new Seiko 5 SPORTS about a week ago, posted it on Nov 5 and waited 'till today to post it in NEW ARRIVALS. It's about 42mm without the crown and 45mm with it. It stands 14mm tall and runs on a 7S26 engine. Lug width is 22mm and lug-to-lug distance about 48mm.

I snapped this little baby because of the simple dial, decently acceptable dimensions, it's very attractive polished surfaces that sort of look like a Lexus version of the Black Monster and because the dial changes hues in a subtle manner from black to midnight blue, depending on the lighting angle.

It's a no-big-deal watch but I think this is nice to keep for certain uses/events. (I also made a related discussion on the ACCESSORIES thread)

Overall, I think I will have years of satisfaction with this immense value, hard-working, reliable and serious Seiko.

Here are some shots:

and some more:

Here it is on the day I posted it Thursday, this past week:

In terms of size, here's how it looks like beside my PAM Daylight:

Here's a shot of its "behind":

And how thick it is versus the Pam:

I might switch the black dial (which I really like lots) into this red one just to see how it will look like:

Thanks for looking:)

Congrats Jeff!!!ThumbsUp02.gif

...looks sweet and agree that it will serve you very well as a hard working, sporty, no-nonsense Seiko.

...probably one of the smaller pieces in your collection...no?

Your on a nice classic Seiko roll lately with this one and your recent 009.

Enjoy!!!!

Nice looking Seiko. but you do confuse me, Jeff. the Stealth Fortis I posted was oo small at the same dimension? Interesting!;) I guarantee the B-42 shows bigger than this Seiko.

Regardless this is a handsome watch and it doesn't hurt you've got additional dials to mix it up as you choose.:dude:

Thanks, Chris, Nic, Canadajo, Tony, Bill, Bigolac and Markyourock.gif

You are right, Chris and Mark. This is really a small one in my collection but somehow when I was at the store, Lady Impulse took over and all my rules flew out thw windowsubtlelaugh.gif. For sure the Fortis is bigger than this but I guess all that great value, mirrored steel, shroud and attractive bracelet got me carried away.

Canadajo, you have a great Landshark. That's been on my radar too for several months now but it's not easy finding the black dial with pale yellow, almost plongeur hands. In my crystal ball, I see it on my wrist by early 2010. The dealer placed it on special order for me.

Bill, yes, we have very similar models except for the indeces I guess, but our bracelets are exactly the same. I prefer the hands on your unit better than the one on mine. Drat! I'll be looking at more stores for more choices of the hands for sure.

Thanks again.

I just hope that you will get the same accuracy as my Seiko 5 (between -2 and -3 seconds per day = superb)
