Read on my friends to the sad tale of canadajo....I recieved today a ( highly anticipated) Glycine Combat yellow -grey ... I was overjoyed at its quality and its beauty...my mistake was to have it delivered at my car lot..( this way the wife doesnt see how much of a watch junkie I am ) I just had to wear this stunner !!!! While checking out a car, I was at least sharp enough to pull the peice off my arm and put in into my pocket.... Yeah you guessed it....it fell out and I found it on the pavement face down !!!!!! It was scratched from top to bottom :X:X:X Despair and sorrow followed :(:(:( DOES ANYONE HAVE ADVISE AS TO WHAT TO DO NOW ?????? I guess it can be buffed ???? I guess I could replace ???? What would you do ???? See pics of said fine watch ![]() ![]() Last edited on Wed Sep 13th, 2006 10:48 pm by canadajo |

I would pass the watch on to a close relative as a birthday gift!! I don't thin he would even notice the scratch. That is a might purty Combat and Glycine makes a might fine watch. Nice pickup; sad tale. Peace, Pax |

Buff it out and if anyone comments on it, you can tell them....as the dial reads........it was made for combat:D JK of course, sorry to here that but I think a good buffing should do the trick..especially if the pics were taken after the fall. Doesn't look to bad:) |

I would take it and have it buffed by a jeweler..or if you have an Antique Refinisher in your area ?...take it to them...they do a phenominal job at buffing hand6.gif...Awesome Pics Buddy !cool10.gif |

Buffing might do the job IF the scratches are not DEEP. Btw, are the scratches on the crystal only or the case too? If it is just the crystal, maybe you would like to consider to customize it and replace the crystal with a sapphire instead?;) |

No scratches on the case, and they are light scratches indeed.........I will consider a saphire because this watch deserves a saph....I seem to not be able to take this watch off my wrist...as I recieved a limited ed yellow Alba diver today and I am still wearing the Glycine :P |

You can do what I do and send it to a watch restorer and chalk it up to experience. I could yell at you like I do my crew and tell you to stay in the moment and stay focused on the present, but I think you beat you self up enough. In the end shit happens. People that have the ability to do great good also have the ability to have great disasters, you can not have one without the other. Enjoy and turn it into a learning experience, get it fixed and enjoy the process. |

Does the dial look more like this? That is, with a brighter yellow and darker gray? cat28.gif Attachment: yellow.jpg (Downloaded 37 times) |

Mike.......I think it is actually a pale yellow with gray numerals..........here is the link to it on the Glycine company web site: http://www.glycine-watch.ch/e/collection/detail_image.jsp?ID_Display=100009&ID_Image=10005M |

Watch looks beautiful. You can send it to me and I will buff all of the scratches out for you free of charge! I could get it back to you in about six months. smile4.gif |

That watch looks great in the picture; bet it's even better looking in real life. Good luck on getting it fixed, but based on what you described as the minor marks on the watch, I'd just consider the marks as adding "character." Kind of like when you have a new car and get your first scratch/dent. After the first one, you just enjoy it. |

That is what I have done....it is rather liberating because now I wear it carefree and I use it as a beater watch...I really get to enjoy the watch better and I wear it more often....Thanx |
