Man there is no talk at all about this. Okay I said a little prayer for Brett Farve and the Packers, but we all must move on....cat28.gif I f had to bet money I would go with Patriots all the way, but I got this root for the under dog thing going on in my head, so I think I'm going for the Giants. My neighbor invited us to watch it at his house, it's like I think I just want to sit in my own house and relax and watch the game, |

So I've played the game on wii, and I actually watched the first part of last years superbowl. Pretty cool with the kickreturnthingy that happened then. Anyway as you may notice I don't know that much about it. So whats the deal this year with the different teams? I heard something about one team not having been beaten at all this year? Please educate me, all I know about the superbowl is that the halftime show is supposed to be a pretty big team. |

Even though Brady came from that "School Up North", I have to admit he is incredible. I'd much rather see the Pats finish with a perfect season than lose to the Giants. It is going to be awfully hard to drive around parts of town this weekend with both the SuperBowl and a big Golf Tourney being held on the same weekend. People are actually renting their homes in Glendale for $850 a day and some for $10,000 a week to football fans and press. |

If the Pats lose after going 18-0 that would be really sad. But if I were betting on the game I would have to see what the point spread was before I made my decision. Other than that since it doesn't put money in my pocket or a watch on my wrist I don't care who wins. |

I think this is going to be awesome Super Bowl game. I think the giants Defence will be a big factor, I think there Defence-front 4 are awesome. The Patriots, well Tom Brady is the man I have to admit, he's already a hall fa-mer already. There a class act, look they took Randy Moss and made a man out of him, or now he act's like a man now! I don't root for Patriots but I say this, in hope I don't sound arrogant I have been watching NFL since 1971 and the Patriots act and play like "Old School", It's all about wee-wee-wee and not me-me. My son (who is 12 yrs old) we sat and watched the interview on ESPN last week where Teddy Brucski, Junior Saui, Rodney Harrsion and Verball (I know I spelled there names wrong, so what) were talking about team play. after the interview the first words out of my son's mouth was "wow" dad there all about team first and not about me-me-me. they left a great impression on him. There an awesome team with great talent. If I have sounded disrespectful in this post or a "know it all" then I apologize now. Only my thoughts. Peace... |

(Heck...even the Bears walloped the Packers!) I'm not a fan of either team...and actually (bigot that I am) detest the whole NY/NE FU culture, but I am rooting for the Patriots simply from the sense of history. I was living in Ft. Lauderdale when the Dolphins went 17 - 0 (Earl Morrell deserves credit for that...not Bob Griese). A 19 - 0 Season would be one for the history books...besides, I am a big Tom Brady fan, as, much like Favre) he was disdained by all, barely made the draft as he was considered just another "also ran"...and now, they both lead the NFL in damn near every QB statistic! |

Hey Ken, I never said I hated Belicheck. I do thing he's a great coach but I don't neccesarily agree with his methodology. I am sure his methods are widespread, and that doesn't make it all right. I still find him a bit of a souless automoton. I'll root for the Giants for a historical perspective too. that of protecting my beloved '72 Dolphins perfect season. And you're right about Earl Morral... he is always forgotten in the remembrance of that perfect sesaon!! |

Well the KC Chiefs went 4 and 12 or something like that...So since my team isn't going to the "show" I'm kind of torn...Pats are strong, damn near flawless in my opinion...Giants however have won their last 10 road games and have everything to prove... So now I will sprinkle is some destiny...Are the Pats destined to achieve that perfect season??? Is Eli destined to win and make all kinds of "Manning" history in the NFL??? I don't know fellas this is a little to complicated for me, I'm putt'n all my money on the commercials, LMAO...Heard TV time is going for about 10k a second, for that much money I would hope they put out some good ones... Seems like a lot of you want the Pats to fail because of Belicheck...and he ain't even playing. CJ...missed your question on Billy...he was a good "utility" player, but I think he lacked the character and leadership to be great....and he kept taking himself out of the mix. Bottom line: a great partier but not a great player with the longevity and leadership of a Morrell or Blanda. Skip...Average $3800 per seat puts the stadium at a cool $300 million plus concessions. Throw in the Phoenix Open and all of the pre-bowl activities, hotel rooms, restaurants, etc., and it looks like close to $1 Billion in revenue for Phoenix....that ought to stimulate the economy. |

No...the coach is in charge of the team, and develops the team, and devises the game plans in accordance with the talent...but usually, the Quarterback (on the offense) leads the team..and, of course, the defense needs a good leader also. Once the teams are on the field...it is the players who lead! |

Payton Manning and T Brady will be Hall of Famers but who can say they're the best ever already ??????????? I was pointing out Montana, Starr, Staubach, Bradshaw, Namath, Unitas, Griese and a bunch of others to my boys as we watched the NFL series of SB game clips. But my original comments were in reference to GREAT back-up QB's that never got any credit!!!...G Blanda and E morrell be 2 of the greatest! Kilmer kept taking himself out of the game with "self-inflicted" injuries, while Blanda and Morrell did everything to keep themselves in the game! I do have to agree that Brady and Peyton Manning are among those greats...they start, they dedicate themselves to the games and they are extremely talented. The jury is still out on Eli! Brady and Peyron are great QB's because they are talented and GREAT leaders. For example, Marino was a much better technical passer that Montana, but he was never a great quarterback because he was on-dimensional, and lacked leadership ability. Montana was a great leader, good scrambler, great play-maker and had great filed presence. Skills and traits his contemporary sorely lacked. |

It was a superb game...I am a fan of neither team, but I would've liked to have seen the history of a 19-0 Perfect Season. I was a full time Florida boy when the Dolphins went 17-0 and it was exciting. I was amazed at the way the NY defense crushed the NE front line while still maintaining the downfield coverage. I guess this elevates E. Manning to the "can win the big one" group of QB's, although I thought the entire NY defensive team should have been named MVP...they won the game for NY. |
