Sold an item on Ebay, not a watch, on 2/13/08, I gave the winning bidder until the 20th (7 days) to pay. I said in my Paypal invoice that I would re-list after that time. Is this fair? What happens if he pays after I re-list the item? It seems kinda weird that he did not pay, because within minutes of the auction ending, he must have up'd his bid so he wouldn't get out-bid. Everything I have purchased, and sold before was paid immediately. I am also thinking that if I have to re-list the item, I will re-list it with a "buy it now" price of $25.00 less than his winning bid, just to piss him off. Any thoughts??? |

Give him a week and then file a non-paying bidder claim with eBay. Seems perfectly reasonable to me and more then enough time to pay for the item. If he/she just won the auction over the weekend they may figure they don't need to pay until Monday when you would earliest ship... I hate when I have multiple auctions and 2 out of 3 pay immediately and then I ship. Invariably the 3rd will pay the day I go to the P.O. and force a second trip... then they'll whine the shipping took too long! |

Well it's only my opinion and you will do what's best, I have sold numerous things on the Bay and won tons and tons of things on the bay and I pay in the first 5 minutes, if you don't pay me in 12 hours I am moving on, but that's just me. I won a bid on some Tiffanys jewelry (for my wife) and after 20 hours I said when are going to mail my stuff, she said in a couple of days ( she meant 4 days) I told her no, ship it now, she got crappy, I immediately open a claim-case (paypal)against her, It woke her up and she returned my money back, to my paypal account. Don't get me wrong I sold a watch on the bay and the guy e-mailed me in minutes and told me he messed up and wanted out and did not want a negative feed back and he sounded humble. I told him thanks for his honesty and I gave him a good feed back, so I do have a heart. Last edited on Sat Feb 16th, 2008 10:11 pm by |

After hearing so many stories like this I don't bother with the bay. Yea some good deals and sellers but not worth the crap to me. I like to pay ASAP unless some other plan of payment is worked out prior. Like with Marc he knows I can pay and will. Whether that day or later. New seller I would expect payment ASAP. Friend I'd not worry to much if I had done business in the positive before. |
