I like checking out watch movements. So when out and about to stores and such I carry a Lumiloup so I can get a closer look. You all may do this too but just in case it helps other newbies too. And you can pic them up often for less than 10 bucks at coin and stamp collector stores. ;)

I've got three or four of them. They are used in the printing field as well. Art supply stores sell them. So do some electronic outfits such as Fry's (for inspecting circuit boards, etc.).

Ken,

Forget going to Michaels. Go to a Photo/Camera store instead. They generally have them for viewing slides, photos, etc. You have a much better shot there. Plus, they should know what you want when you ask for a lumiloupe. The come in 7X through 10X usually. $8 to $12 generally.

Just did a quick look for them online using Google images and many online sources came up. 141 hits ;)

I got mine at a stamp and coin shop here in town about 5 years ago.

Did some looking around while out yesterday. You may find these in your local camera shops, drug stores and sporting goods stores also. ;)
