Wow...Great looking watch.
Can I ask:
Will all dial colors be available immediately, or will you introduce them one at a time?
Can you post a picture of the new stainless steel braclet?
Will the new braclet fit your current Sea Anglers?

Thank you

Michael

HMMMM, Like the back casehand6.gif, Colors are greathand6.gif I would like to see one on someones wrist, before I commit to buy another Orsa though. I'm gonna really have to love it, in order to get another. The wife is on me like a hound with my watches that I have now. LOL.

I like the design of those new Orsas.  I perfer the old bezel though, with the dots only from 0 to 10, and not all the way around (looks too cluttered).

I see.  "Monstum" is kind of a funny name though - how about the "Monstrum?"  It rolls off the tongue more naturally.

Very cool Berg...  I like the 47mm size, course some might shy from the 19mm height, but with the curved crystal, should look great...   Cant wait to see a prototype...  will it have the 8215 movt?

Same case?  Thought the Sea Angler was 45mm, Berg's spec says this one is 47mm, which would make it same case size as my Panerai Fiddy?  Am gonna go set em side by side and see...

here are the specs:

- 47mm wide
- 55mm lugs to lugs
- 19mm thick
- 22mm lugs
- sapphire crystal
- 60 clics rotating bezel
- 300M water resistant
- custom made rubber band
- C3 super luminova hands and dial
- miyota 8215 auto movt

the monstrum was made from the sea angler s case , the difference is the wider bezel , the crystal , and the crown , the lugs are also shaped differently.

the price is not decided yet but it will be under the 350.

the first model will be the blue , all models will be available for 2007.

regarding the ss band , i will do my best to offer it before fall .

Berg

Berg,

I love it...the size worries me a little (as a personal concern).  Is it 47mm including crown or plus crown?  the back design is fantastic and I see you have incorporated the lore of the ORSA Class Submarine.   All in all........VERY cool10.gif!!!!!

I noticed on the 8215 in my SeaPro that I can 'pseudo-hack' it by reverse winding and holding with the second hand at 12. Similarly I think to the 7S26 movement in the Seiko Monsters?   or do I need more caffeine this morning??

Looks like the movement is an 8205. I am not well versed in the difference(s) between that and an 8215... Anybody?

You can psuedo hack them by applying a bit of backward pressure... don't think it is recommended per the manufacturer.

Strangely enough though the Miyotas are considered bombproof, I have had problems with two... My Magico which arrived DOA and a skeletonized Harley Davidson Bulova for my Pops which was running about 3 hours fast a day. Both are better now!!

my only experience with the movement has been pretty good so far. The seikos I've owned and have now have had no problems. the only thing I have found is they run alittle fast. on average around 15 + secs.a day which isn't bad at all. most of us are used to our watches being +/- 1 to 4 a day which is better than cosc. Just shake the watch to start it and off it goes. I like to be able to hack and wind a movement, but I really don't need those functions on a diver thats not going to be used for military manuvers or any real diving.hand6.gif

thanks for the info guys ,i would prefer it if the watch could be hand wound as i like to change my watches often and it would be easier if it did .

is the mostrum the only new watch coming from orsa or are those others that were likened to the zodiac also on the horizon. i belive that it also had the same myota movment in it. was that work in progress redefined as the mostrum or is there another watch still to come

yellow sea angler

i dont understand what subliminal message.

I think you misunderstood...while the Miyota is a non-hacking movement, it IS a hand windable movement!

Yeah in the end, I much prefer handwind over hacking if I had to pick one feature.  Non windable movements drive me nuts because I always think they will suddenly stop (even though they never do).  The non hacking, you can always do the pseudo-hack by applying reverse pressure.

The base Seiko movements (7S27/7S36) are not hacking and not hand-windable while the move up (6R15, etc) does both.  The Seiko rotoer on the 7Sxx movement are bi'directional, though, and do a superb job of auto winding. The same with the base Orient movements....I am not sure if Citizen (Miyota) has a hacking movement in their stable.

Outstanding watch! But I am little worried about the strap fixing, It doesnt look like standard one, will I be able to change straps without modification? Or is it just some kind of strap-to-case link used there? And another question - is there any chance for monstrum with black dial? coyote2.gif

P.S. And greetings from Poland to all of you, I am new at this forum and I i got here when I was looking for info about Orsa hand6.gif heheh

the custom orsa  rubber strap will fit both sea-angler and monstrum .

it will be possible to put any style of 22mm straps on the monstrum.

5 dials colors will be availble , the first one release will be the blue , the rest will follow , all dials will be released before chrismas.

i will post the 2 other color soon.

not this time , the reason is that this watch is loaded with extras ( custom strap , crown and saphire) .

I can't wait to lay may hands on one of those watch2.gif. I am hoping for all black dial, like the one in Angler, cuz black fits every color, and I love changing straps :D

Berg....you gotta be "jazzed".  The excitement of the Monstrum has led to one of our biggest threads ever!!!

I'd say jazzed would be a good feeling about this. :) Besides having my name in for the 3T version I now do want one of these other new ones too. Orsa has grown on me. ;)

Orsa Monstrum is awesome!!

Design is 100% clear, Monstrum is oldschool diver, and back design is a real headbanger.

Martin - I sent you mail to info@orsawatchco.info
Have you receive it?

OK guys, I ordered 2 Orsas today to add to my 1 and my father's 1 that he hijacked on the way to me.  I REALLY look forward to the Monstrum.  What a great quality watch with some nice extras that are usually found on only much more expensive watches.  Berg you have a winner here.
Look forward to some action shots with the Monstrum.

so, i really had to register to 3T cos im really interested in a Orsa watch.

I have been watching for a big diver kind of watch but there seems to nothing out there (or they start at 3000$->;) and i dont have that kind of money atm) and i want a white dial one cos i have my black B&M
<<<<<<

But the Orsa Monstrum seems really cool and i was whondering if its

going to be available in a "clear bezel" version like the sea angler in the above pic.

I would definitely go for a clear bezel + black and white dial version...

Cheers and greets from Santa Claus- Land >Finland<
