Hi guys, Working on a new project. Just want to gather what everyone thinks/prefer to have. 1) PVD, Blackened steel 2) Tegiment, Icehardening 3) Mix of 1 and 2. Which do you prefer. Aesthetics or the hardening of the steel? Regards Anders |

Hi Anders Thanks for letting us get involved again. I like them both. It depends on the type of watch and use and the look. If you are just asking what I would consider more important then it would be the better steele. tegimnted. Thanks Billy S |

How about a fourth option - DLC? Very hard to damage, gives an almost gunmetal color appearance, not as dark as PVD and not plain old SS. This Night Train uses DLC...![]() |

hmmm, can i have ice-hardening n DLC together?? lol.that be the match made in heaven. smile8.gif i think some people r on the quest for that one watch that is indestructable, that can go tru hell n come back unsciave. imo theres isnt onem,it doesnt exsist. Everythign can be scratched if used with the right amount of force even diamond but its nice to have a few technology which allows a watch to negoiate everyday wear n still look newish. However last time i checked for an end-user to get his watch DLCed cost around 1000$ at least and that doesnt include the assembly watchmaker charge. Companys like ball, Sinn, citizen etc2 can do it.cos they work on economies of scale. How much money n effort r u willing to put into Dievas to see that through. Ultimately i love to have a watch that ouuzes technical advantages but within at a certain price bracket. Somethign to ponder upon i reckon. :):) Chris |

Diamond Like Carbon(DLC) is definitely high on my list together with some other treatments. I have talked to a couple of specialist companies in Europe now. But the thing is that none of them are willing to take up our small quantity. And we are not talking about 10-20 pieces here. We are talking hundreds of pieces. And the cost is pretty high. I was thinking of offering it to Dievas customers with no markup at all. So its cost to cost for the treatment. And the price is about $300-400 per watch treatment. Will you guys be willing to pay that for a treated case? |

Hundreds of pieces is a substantial call though especially at this stage.....why not try a few samples on your current range as a trial run..see how well its recieved then maybe u can decide accordingly. However i must say $300-400 is not a lot to pay and its a great idea to further spread the Dievas brand across. i personally would definately be interested. will be lookin at this closely from now. smile8.gifsmile8.gif Chris |

I think he is saying his cost for the treatment would be $300-400 , so a $600 watch retail goes to $900-1000 retail. I think thats a lot for a case treatment. Although if it really was part of a whole design and not just a different finish on a watch who knows. |

Anders may I ask what would be the final price with the Diamond Like Carbon(DLC) and shipping on this watch to 3T members. |

Easy Teddy... we don't even know which type of watch Anders is thinking about treating. Personally and jmho, I don't need treated SS. I prefer good old untreated stainless and wouldn't pay a premium for treated metal. JMHO! |
