Just a quick hello. Found this place looking for info on the Glycine combat sub quartz. So far no luck, but this seems like a good place to wait for somthing to turn up. Glad to be here.

Hi Bob (reminiscent of an old party drinking game)....welcome to 3T!!!

I'm not a quartz guy, but I am a Glycine guy and love the SUB....the black dial orange hands/markers is very cool looking!

Thanks for the welcome. Good to be here. As for the Glycine in quartz. I want something that I can bike with shoot with and all the other things they recommend that you don't do with an auto.  I've had good luck with my Seiko autos 007, black monster. But I'm having a hell of a time finding anything but pictures of the Glycine on there website.

Seems like most dealers I've found don't carry the quartz version. But I keep looking. Again thanks for the welcome.

I wouldn't worry about the myth of "shock" thru activity with automatics.  I have been playing golf, tennis skiing, etc. for years with no damage.  As a reverse view, why don't people think that shock to a delicate electronic movement might cause failure.

If you want something that isn't going to break and you won't really have to worry about, simply get a hearty Seiko diver like the Monster or any other SKX series...they also make very fine (and hardy) quartz models if you still wanna go that way!

I have both the 007 and a monster. Great watches both, as well as a few citizens, both auto and quartz. If all else fails I'll still end up getting the auto. I just love the look of the watch. I don't know much about movements, so cant comment there, and thats why I'm here.

Hi Bob

As you can already tell - this is a great community!

You will find answers, and your watch, in time. If anybody sees one - they will let you know. It just works out like that...

Welcome to 3T! Have fun and enjoy!
