Once I got my tax return back I just couldn't resist, Citizen 20th Anniversary Aqualand will be here Tuesday :D

My wife is planning a Caribbean vacation, so this baby will definitely get some ocean time!

Cheers,
Griff

I'm in the same boat as you.  Even the cruise we did was Disney.  But,  it has been so busy the last couple of years.....  Even the so called off season, we are done for now.  Next vacation is a place called Dauphin Island off the gulf coast.  Disney is such a great place to go that you get stuck in the rut.  So you are not alone my friend.

Anyway, the watch = cool.  Way to complicated for me though.  I need a big hand and little hand.  Sometimes the seconds hand can even be confusing. face4.gif

And here she is:

Totally awesome!  Not too hard to set, but the manual is about as thick as my Suunto manuals   Surprisingly light for the size too.  And it came packed in a "scuba tank" box, too cool hand6.gif

The only thing is, this was the last watch on my list (other than unaffordable grails), now what?!?  I know, Baselworld is going on now :D

Cheers

The Aqualand is very comfortable for a large watch, and it isn't too heavy either.  The buttons work with a very sold click feel, easy to operate.  The lume is Citizen's bright blue, and it is bright!  The backlight only works in the LCD display, and it only lights up the text, I don't know how they do that but it is really cool hand6.gif

My only complaint is the very long strap.  I know it is a dive watch but I would have liked the setup that is on the Zilla with the extra strap extender.  Other than that it is a winner!

Cheers,
Griff

"Last watch on my list..." Griff, you crack me up. I assume your list has been refreshed now as a number of hours have passed since you posted that!!:D

Congrats on the Aqualand. One of the seminal diver tools!!

That watch is really something else.  Ive always liked Citizens but never cared for
non traditional shapes.  Id make an exception for that one.

Thanks guys!  The shape is what grabbed me in the first place, as there is a 20th Anniversary Aqualand with the same features in a more traditional round case.  I scoured sales forums before I pulled the trigger on this one through an AD, and I noticed that everyone for sale was the round shape, never the reverse "D".  The dive timing/depth functions are really cool, I love how the hands move around the dial when setup for a dive.  I can't wait to try them out hand6.gif

Honest, is was the last on my "roundtuit" list, really!  Sure I have grails (Accutron 218 Deep Sea, Accutron Astronaut (new and cal. 214), Omega Speedie, classic Heuer Carrera and Calculator, Seiko Marine Master and Flightmaster, Orient 300m, Yantar 24hr) but none of them are affordable right now.  The Accutrons would need to be NOS or have a lot of restoration money spent, and well, anything over 1K would get me a trip to the tent in the backyard coyote2.gif

I did see some nice Citizens out of Baselworld that would be affordable but that is it.  I suppose I could start selling off watches that don't see a lot of wrist time, there are a couple, but that is the only way I can get a grail.  Now what to do????

Cheers,
Griff

Griff...if you skipped purchasing for a mere 3 days, you could get one of those grails! subtlelaugh.gif

Nice pick up griff.  I have the same watch and I have to agree that the strap is way long - so I cut it!  goofy

It's really an easy watch to operate and have had no issues other than the diving sensor being too sensitive.  Everytime my arms sweat it thinks that I'm in the water.

I've been thinking about clipping the strap shorter, maybe after vacation this summer.

CJ, as my wife says, I am a "button pusher" :D  I started with broadcast engineering and electronics and now am a computer puke.  Just love them buttons!

Cheers,
Griff
