I received my Eco-Zilla adapters today (from Walter). I carefully went about removing the screws from the back retaining ring on my Ti Eco-Zilla. Turns out, the first few threads of two (of the 4) screw holes are stripped. The screw goes in fine without the retaining ring on the watch caseback, but with the ring, the screw doesn't reach down into the hole far enough to grab the remaining good threads. Any advice on fixing this problem? Does anyone know of slightly longer screws of the same style that would work with this watch. The current screws are tapered and 8.13mm long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

~Chris

I'm not very mechanically inclined, but if the screw is long enough and only the first 2 threads of " the hole" are stripped why would you not be able to screw the screw in after that point??

Maybe someone can interject. I dont think Citizen would manufacture anything like that.

Maybe I didn't describe it very well. It does screw in all the way, it just isn't long enough to grab onto the threads further down in the hole. The screw hole is deeper than the screw. I'm just guessing at how many threads are stripped. I do know that if I put the screw in without the strap retaining ring, the screws are able to bite onto enough threads to tighten. That's why I though a screw slightly longer (to make up for the thickness of the retaining ring) would work.

Excuse my confusion, but are the screws stripped, or is the hole stripped?

Replacement screws are available directly from Citizen.

If the holes are stripped, and you think the hole is longer than the screw, you may be able to find a slightly longer screw at a local hardware store, but triple-check the thread (pitch, count, etc).

It's the hole that's stripped. But I think it's just the first several threads. If I put the same screw in without the strap retaining ring, it tightens just fine. With the ring though, the screw isn't long enough to reach down to the good threads. I'm going to measure the thread size here at work and see if I can find a slightly longer screw.
