Hi 3Ters I have a problem and I am hoping for a bit of help please. I want to buy 2 x Omega mesh bracelets - one 22mm and one 24mm. Standard lengths seem to be 165 to 175mm (minimum) for these NOS bracelets - but that is the issue. My wrist is 170mm. Total. The target watches I intend to use them on are between 40 and 50mm lug to lug. If you do the math - I have a poopload of extra mesh there... I understand that the pin holes on the clasp end will give me about 18mm of play. My question - has anyone shortened an NOS Omega mesh bracelet before, and was it successful? Any clues on how to, who to, or why I should or shouldn't do it? Do I have to give it to an Omega AD and get them to do the work of removing rows of mesh-links? I am gonna get one of these Omega mesh's if it kills me, and I am open to your suggestions on everything except the brand! Hope you all can set me straight, and I figure that if anyone can help - you guys can. Thank you!! IanM ![]()

Hi all. Replying to your own post after 5 days is a bit rough! Must have been a dud question  I have been on a quest and the best asnwers I have received have come from a seller of mesh on another site. Looks like there are big and small versions of the Omega 24mm mesh, and I can wear the small. I will get back and report after it is delivered, and to tell you if almost $300USD is a fair cost... Any more views, insights or opinions - please feel free to post a response. I am still unsure, but I guess I will know soon enough. Delivery wait is several weeks, though... IanM hand6.gif

Don't know much about mesh bracelets...I know the http://www.lonestarwatches.com carries a nice one, but I understand it fits a minimum 7 1/8 wrist.

Hi ken - thanks very much for the response. I have seen the lonestar version and I reckon it is very nice. But you are right about the sizing.... I was still willing to try, though. I had one which I THOUGHT I had bought from a seller on another site, only to be told that he had changed his mind. $%@+! I have on hold an Omega 24mm mesh from a seller on WUS - I will tell you in about 3 weeks if he has actually reserved one for me, and then the fun of sizing begins. I want to put this in rotation on the new Ocean7 LM-7, my PAM 063 and a couple of other dive watches. I reckon it will look the bomb. But of course if I can't size it properly, it will be like having a canon-ball attached to my wrist by an elastic band... face4.gif I will get back and let y'all know when I get the thing and do a bit of work to it - with photos of course! hand6.gif Cheers - IanM

Same here. I've never had an Omega with the mesh strap. I've only seen them on the PloProf and while extremely interesting, I've never lusted after one.

Thanks teddy, canadajo and edgel - I was looking at another forum, saw a thread on 1000m dive watches, loved the mesh look and now I have had that lightbulb WIS moment when, you know, I have just GOTTA have one... I might be barking up the wrong tree, but I an willing give one a try. I am completely new to mesh, as well - but after about 25 years of collecting and trading (well, losing money to be honest...) watches, and with a grail list that still looks like a phone book, I reckon the mesh will be an interesting diversion while waiting to win the lottery... You guys are great ! I was being a bit cheeky when I did my second post, but I had already figured that if anyone knew something, they would have ante'd up by now. For the moment, I am following diveluvr's suggestion and buying one of his NOS 24mm Omega mesh bracelets. He has a 50mm lug to lug watch, his wrist is 167mm and he wears the smaller of the two "Ploprof" 24mm mesh bracelets (one is about 165mm, the other is 140mm - then of course, Omega began selling those extension links which are now about $65USD each...). So - the smaller one sounds like a winner to me and probably wont need any adjustment other than on the clasp end! ![]() ![]() lanM

I've got an Omega mesh on my Aquastar Benthos, and IMO they are not large. I've got 8" wrists, and need the extender on the bracelet (bracelet on it's own was too small for me). If you go for the Omega I would expect it will fit (there's about 10mm of adjustment on the bracelt), but if not I can't see you loosing too much money - they sell very quickly on the forums when they come up. Good luck Rich
